Another day in the charming streets of Fort Kochi, and yet another delightful culinary discovery. My food trail this time led me to Trouvaille. It's a cozy little café tucked away in the vibrant lanes of Fort Kochi. And let me just say, it was a true find, living up to its name.
From the moment I stepped in, I was drawn to its laid-back yet tasteful ambiance. It doesn’t scream for attention but quietly impresses you with its warmth and simplicity. A refreshing change from the often overdone, Insta-hungry setups.
Now, onto the heart of the experience, "The food and coffee." After what feels like ages, I finally sipped on a *properly brewed Americano in Kochi. Smooth, rich, and bold flavor, exactly how it should be. The Caramel Latte was also equally impressive with just the right balance of sweetness.
From the mains, we opted for the Caesar Salad and a Croissant with Cheese Omelet, both of which hit the spot. But the star, hands down, was that croissant, it was flaky, buttery, and honestly one of the best that I have had in recent times. It's the kind of pastry that lingers in your memory and makes you crave a second round.
We originally had our eyes on their smashed patty burger , which I heard is a house specialty. Sadly, we were too full to go another round. But mark my words, I will be going back just for that. We also had a type of cheese cake, it was simply splendid.. Attaching the photographer. It's a true winner.
Quick side note to the folks at Trouvaille: please consider bringing back the chicken-filled croissant. That combo sounds like a winner waiting to happen.
In a city where cafés are mushrooming everywhere, Trouvaille feels like a breath of fresh air. Still under the radar for many, this place deserves to be your next breakfast (or coffee) destination. Whether you are a mallu or just passing through, don’t miss this quiet little star...
Read moreI recently visited Trouvaille and overall, my dining experience was quite enjoyable. However, I must express my disappointment with their English fry up dish. Priced at more than 600/-, it felt exorbitant compared to other menu items like the bolognese pasta and pulled pork burger, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced.
The English fry up plate was underwhelming, featuring minimal portions of sautéed mushrooms, baked beans, toast, fried eggs, hash browns, bacon, and sausages. The sausages, in particular, were disappointing as they were small and thinly sliced, making it seem like an inadequate portion for the price.
Considering the minimal cooking involved in preparing this dish, the high price tag seemed unjustifiable. Even after careful calculation, it's evident that the cost far exceeded the value provided. While the pasta and burger offered ample portion sizes and great flavors at a fraction of the price, the English fry up failed to deliver both in terms of taste and value.
Despite this setback, the restaurant offered a pleasant ambiance and attentive service, contributing positively to the overall dining experience. However, the disparity in pricing and portion sizes between the English fry up and other menu items left a lingering disappointment.
In conclusion, while they offers a generally satisfying dining experience, patrons may want to reconsider ordering the English fry up given its disproportionate cost and underwhelming presentation compared to other...
Read moreTrouvaille is by far the best of the best A/C cafe around here hands down.
It has become a refuge for me to cool down as I brave the heat while strolling around Fort Kochi (I have visited this place everyday throughout my stay in Kochi). It's strategic location makes a lot of difference for walkers. If you are a rider like me, Rejoice, you can also park your precious bike just at the entrance and it could be a great photo drop too with its stylish store front. Clean washroom too!
On top of great coffee and food, the functional A/C really makes the difference. Not to mentioned they operate at 8.30 AM which means I could grab my coffee early morning.
The Éclair was quite nice, the blue cheese with chips was good. I'm addicted to their cold brew coffee, one of the best I've enjoyed. The Barista is serious and seems to enjoy his work, hence you get a proper coffee. Service crew also really nice and kindly guide me through how to use the water metros.
To sum it up, A/C, great coffee, good food, nice atmosphere, amazing crew, nice store front with strategic location. All with fair pricing for menu. Highly recommended place, and certainly earn my "must come back again" spot in my travel list.
Update: we decided to have lunch here before setting off to airport. Wisest decision to end our vacation in Kochi. The Ravioli alla Caprese is heavenly and very authentic. Love the Bocconcini and al...
