Grand General Dr. A. H. Nasution Memorial Museum — Attraction in Jakarta

This is a museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. It showcases life, career and works of General of the Army Abdul Haris Nasution, a prominent military figure and the former Indonesian Armed Forces Chief of Staff who barely escaped capture and assassination at the hands of the 30 September Movement in the 1965 coup attempt. Formerly this house is residence of Nasution and his family when he became the Indonesian Armed Forces Chief of Staff in 1949 until his death on 6 September 2000. On 30 September 1965, troops from the presidential bodyguard attempted to kidnap Nasution. Nasution escaped, but his daughter, Ade Irma Suryani Nasution, and First Lieutenant Pierre Tendean were killed. From now on it handed to Indonesia National Army and turned into a Museum...

It's a tiny museum, easy to be missed if you walk by Teuku Umar Street. But i would say it was well maintained by the Indonesian Army.

People can park their car inside of the museum area, quite spacious parking space for family cars.

There is the museum caretaker/historian who can guide us, just like most Museum in Indonesia they put forward first person experience and plenty of diorama. Very old school, but quite excellent storytelling.

Small museum, about general Abdul Harris Nasution's life and G30S PKI kidnapping plot that happened in this house on 30th September 1965. Entry is free, parking for car is easy, and there is tour guide to explain the items inside. Very well maintained, with life size diorama to show what happened on that fateful night. Interesting for local visitor to learn about our politic history. Some diorama and showcase could be too creepy for sensitive person, but still recommended for...
