I recently visited 3 Wise Monkeys with high expectations, particularly craving some good sushi. As a loyal customer from my high school and college days, I was looking forward to revisiting the restaurant after some time. We started with a variety of dishes including salad, sashimi, and sushi rolls.
However, my experience took a turn for the worse during the meal. Midway through our sushi order, I was shocked to notice a cockroach crawling near the sushi preparation area. Alarmed, I asked one of the staff members about this, only to receive a nonchalant response — a brief, awkward smile.
As if this weren’t disturbing enough, I then saw that the sushi was being prepared right next to a sink used for washing dishes. The thought of raw sushi being prepared beside dirty dishes was nauseating. I lost my appetite entirely and confronted the manager Bapak Agus. Unfortunately, the manager’s response was equally disappointing — he seemed uninterested, hurried, and insincere in his apology.
I asked for clarification on whether the sink was actually used for washing dishes, to which the manager claimed it wasn’t. But just as I pointed this out, one of the employees was indeed washing dishes in that very sink! It felt like I was being lied to, which only added to my frustration.
This experience was a complete letdown, especially considering the location and the premium price range of the restaurant. A place in Senopati, at these prices, should maintain much higher hygiene standards. Frankly, street vendors offering pecel ayam have better cleanliness. I was heartbroken, especially after being a regular patron during my school years. Sadly, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Read moreThey have an all you can eat sushi option. This is what interest me to come and try it. And it's not disappointing. With a lot of menus you can pick, and especially you can choose the number of salmon sashimi you want to eat, even up to 100 if you can take it. But you have to know, they will charge you extra if you have leftovers.
The place is quite big, 2 level, means they can hold a big number of customer. And for singles and couples, the have a bar and a big round table, they'll usually put. Smoking area on the second level. And it quite pack especially on the weekend, means you might have to book it first.
It's time for the food it self. Surprisingly it's quite good. The sashimi taste okay, don't expect the freshness like from 5 star hotel restaurant, but it doesn't stink and taste bad, a good point since this one is the main purpose for me. For the other sushi, they cook it well, they also have tempura option which taste good also. Ocha was free flow, you have to pay extra if you want other drinks. And last, they serve free flow ice cream.
A great 90 minutes experience for me. Definitely will come again. You just have to remember to take it slow, not too slow, cause you'll want to enjoy it but still able to try all, and you don't want to be full fast. Order a lot at first, with variation, and choose wisely. Cause when it gets packed, you have to wait a bit longer for your second order, and your 90 minutes will come to waste. Give it a try. This one is really...
Read moreReservation is a must. The place is always jam-packed at certain hours. I was here for AYCE package but to me it's not that good. Some of its sushi are tasty, but the other are just ordinary. If you looking for a delish experience just go to their neighbour, but if you're looking for freshly unlimited salmon sashimi then this one is worth to visit. We ordered lotsa salmon sashimi which surprisingly nice. I wasn't expect to be this nice since we took AYCE package. Aburi salmon with truffle sauce and salmon lava is very very good we keep on ordering the same thing. Beef enoki and cheese roll are also well tasted. Anything aburi are yum, but I didn't find anything special from 3 wise monkey special roll. Fried menus are plain meh, also salad came in very small portion so better order a lot at a time and mix it on bigger plate. Dessert are small puddings and very basic neapolitan ice cream so don't expect too much. They have so many waiters around and I consider em responsive but too bad that we only get our first 2 orders pretty quick but the rest are just snail slow. Idk if this is happen to another table as well but my suggestion is once you made up your mind on what to order, just go make it rain before they slowing down the pace on...
