Chose Plataran Menteng to celebrate my birthday. I highly recommend this Plataran Menteng to you guys. This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in town. They have a very comfortable ambience with a luxurious look but still looks the traditional side. And the food they serve is all 5 star, all the food I ordered was very tasty and no one makes me disappointed. You must try too guys! If you get a basket of welcome bread in an Italian restaurant, then what about here? Assorted chips with sambal. Purple sweet potato chips and banana chips, dipped into sambal honje, made from hot chili pepper and torch ginger.
Ayam Dharmawangsa (IDR 129K) Batter coated fried chicken with onion mango slaw, pomelo, sweet and sour sauce. It was soooo good, definitely my kind of food. Reminds me of Thai salad, but way sweeter in a good way. Refreshing mango and pomelo, great combination
Dendeng Batokok (IDR 179K) Air-dried beef with spiced coriander, blackpepper and chili tomato relish. Dendeng presented at Plataran Dharmawangsa very different from usual. Here they serve with cuts of crispy and thin meat. Taste sweet and sambal not too spicy but addictive. I really like this menu.
Bebek Manggis Curry (IDR 125K) Roasted duck served with mangosteen and curry sauce. The presentation was the most beautiful among others that we had that day. Bright orange curry, with golden brown roasted duck. The curry was not too strong to my palate and the duck was tender, juicy, but not stand out to be compared with the previous dishes that I had.
Orak Arik Pangsit Udang (IDR 85K) We order this menu as it gets a recommendation. And it turns out this menu is very tasty with crispy wonton, prawn, tofu, caipo, beansprout, egg and chives. This is my first pangsit eating experience served like this and the taste awesome. At first glance this menu looks like pad Thai but this is more delicious.
Oseng-Oseng Pucuk Labu (IDR 49K) This vegetable menu consists of chayote shoots, cherry tomato, fermented soya bean, chilli and garlic. The texture of this menu not too soft but fibrous. And the taste feel spiced and tasty.
Ambience was top-notched, price is abit steep but definitely worth for an occasion. 10/10 would still return & will...
Read moreThis is very difficult review to write as i love the restaurant. 3 times here so far, but last one was so disappointing. Place is fantastic, food is very good. Price is not cheap but hey we know this already. What’s so so sad was the service: We’re 8 people, some were fasting. One of us mistakenly bring a bottle of water from the car, the lady escorted us talked down to him and told him no food or drink from outside, like he was a peasant. While saying she basically snatched the bottle from him, i almost gasped and like to told her how impolite she was, but i am old but she’s much older. The rest of us were offended but we let it go. We were waiting for breakfasting time and the food, so we went upstairs to the rooftop. One of the reason we went to this resto was the rooftop and we had first timer in jakarta visitors. They really like it upstairs so we asked the waitress to have our drinks upstairs, and one of waitress mouthing that ‘we were just adding homework- in indonesian: nambah PR” to one of us. The drinks did come but it just ruined the atmosphere. As breakfasting time come, we were going down through stairs- 2 levels. And we brought our own drinks down, however as we ordered quite a lot, i carried 1 perriere bottle, 2 glasses and one sugar cup. I managed to went one level, and to the next level, i asked one of the waitress if they had nearby lift, he said it’s closer by stairs and did nothing to help me with the drinks, only when i started climbed down, one waitress running to me and said ‘let me help you with the drink’. The whole time there i didn’t see the staffs smiling. Usually in the nice place, staffs are super nice. Btw, i have been to all Plataran Resto in Jakarta and also in Labuan Bajo, this is the only place with...
Read morePlataran Menteng is one of Indonesian fine dining restaurant. Located in Menteng, Central Jakarta, when we enter the restaurant, the interior and ambiance will bring us to a noble colonial family resident. This restaurant consists of three floors. Besides for the usual dining, Plataran Menteng could be used as a venue for both formal and informal events.
We had Christmas lunch here, and already reserved via telephone. We were seated on the first floor. It feels so homy and comfortable, just like our own luxury home 😃
The food price here is high and most of the them has a small portion, suitable for sharing among 3 - 4 persons. If you come with the large number of group, it is better to order the menu in more quantity.
Here are what we tried :
Sup Buntut (IDR 189,000) A bowl of soup with the tender and tasty oxtail, sliced potato, carrot, tomato, leek, fried onions served with green chilli sambal, lime, and crackers.
Udang Gandum (IDR 189,000) Fried prawn served with oatmeal, chili, curry and pandan leaves.
Kari Ayam Deli (IDR 125,000) This is one of the recommended menu from Plataran Menteng and also from me! Boneless curried chicken, curry leaves, served with roti prata and the thick curry.
Tumis Daun Dewa (IDR 75,000) For the vegetable menu, we chose sauteed dewa leaves with prawn, onion, sliced chili and tomato. This dewa leaves are quite similar with water spinach. Tastes good, too.
Iga Lada Hitam (IDR 198,000) Another recommend menu from Plataran Menteng and me. The tender braised short rib with leek in black pepper sauce. It has the combination taste of sweet with a...
