Honestly the most miserable lunch I have ever received. Wanted to get a "large" salad and the girl gets out a tiny plastic container. I asked for large again and she said that the size is same for small and large... even though the "large" is more expensive. I then asked for a brown bread sandwich with 2 fillings... TWO. They charged me 7 euro for a bit of smoked salmon and a spoon of spinach on a stale brown bread (was definitely at least 2-3 days old)... I asked once more if it really was 7 euro for 2 filling and the girl abruptly replied "Well yeah that's our prices." The board had loads of sandwich options that had about 3-5 fillings and were 6 euro, I was pretty much robbed. I didn't have time to see what was on the menu as I felt rushed and there was a queue forming behind me. If you have the audacity to rob people silly then at least have generous portions, freshly baked bread and...

One of my all time favourite cafes in Dublin. A rare lasting shop from over 25 years now I believe. But it has aged brilliantly. A mix of classics from the owners own background and modern classics. Gorgeous coffee, ice cream and pizza to boot. Not least of the highlights is the staff. From the owners dancing and singing around the cafe (and not afraid to dig in and help either I might add) to the ever attentive and fun staff - Bite of Life sums of modern Ireland and hospitality all in one. Any visit to nearby Patrick’s Cathedral, Patrick’s Park, Dublin Castle, Teelings Distillery or Christchurch Cathedral should include a stop here. My menu option of choice is the salmon cream cheese bagel - my SO goes for the Dutch Breakfast paired with a fresh tasty juice or an oat coffee. Amazing spot. If the weather is good - another great option is takeaway for a picnic in the...

My first visit to Dublin, we were on our way to St. Patrick's Cathedral and happened upon Bite of Life to grab a snack.

I ordered a green smoothie, a berry smoothie, and a slice of salmon quiche. Both were absolutely delicious. I genuinely would like to remake the quiche recipe at home because of how unique it was! The green smoothie tasted very natural and healthy. I would definitely recommend.

For the rating, since I am obviously a tourist, I don't understand the politics of Dublin, but for some reason every store front had a lots of political flags. It was a bit unattractive for me as a customer, but otherwise really appreciated the food and services of the cafe. Also the prices were a bit surprising, we paid $35 for two smoothies, a slice of quiche, and a side of scrambleld eggs, and...

I went in looking to buy a cup of hot water to heat my child's bottle up. She asked me why can't I bring the child down to the cafe where take it heat the bottle up there and I said because the baby is in the playground with his mother and his older brother. I didn't said that seems very cynical I said do not believe that I have a child as I'm willing to pay for the water I'm not looking for free water anything and says yes I am cynical and I asked a member of staff is she always like this and she always that cynical and they're answer is yes so I would advise not gone to this cafe as the owner doesn't display very many humanistic traits such as understanding or just general awareness as the how difficult it is to be a parent of two young children.

Asked for a €3 americano. Would I like regular or large? Just a regular is fine thanks. And this is what I was handed. Show me anywhere in Dublin where this is a regular size coffee!!! Anywhere I'll wait! Apparently their "large" coffee is what every other coffee shop in Dublin calls a regular. Server looked like it was a bother for her to serve people. I'll be posting this for all my coach driving colleagues who park beside this shop to see also. I'll be heading to daybreak across the road from now on for a "regular" coffee.

Brilliant, cosy and quirky eatery. Real coal fire, upscale furniture and fantastic tasting food. If I lived in Dublin I'd be a regular. With delicious looking super size quiche, bagles and toasties and yummy cakes, choosing was hard. Needing a boost I went with a super fresh smoothie of zingy carrot, apple and ginger. Followed by piping hot tea and salmon, cream cheese and salad bagle, which came with a fresh slice of lemon. It's the little touches that make places special.
