I didn't want the other bad reviews to ring true for me too. I've been here twice before and twice had good experiences. Today brought 2 friends here expecting the same service but sadly did not cut it. Will not be returning. Incredibly disappointing service.

Myself and my two friends were left sitting at our given table for roughly 10 minutes before we got a menu. Roughly 10 minutes before our order is taken. Fair enough, busy time. We order 2 sandwiches and one order of toast with nut butter and jam. Roughly 20 minutes later a server brings our hot drinks.

Another 15mins pass and yet another server comes to tell us the sandwiches we'd ordered forever ago weren't actually available? No sandwiches left. Walked away again. :)

Almost 10mins pass and the server returns to take our new order. Two of us decide on plain toast as well because at this point, we're hungry and annoyed and don't want to risk disappointment should we order anything more complex. ANOTHER 15mins pass and we finally get our toast. Jesus christ.

To further add insult to all this, a huge group beside us is seated and served their food within 30mins, a different couple even faster. And they all ordered much more complicated, fuller meals than we did and arrived after we were already seated.

Even though one of my friends ordered the most basic option of toast and jam early, none of use got our food until we we'd sat there for almost an hour. Like guys what the hell. There's actually no excuse here. I get that it's busy but if others were being served on time and our table was ignored, I don't know what can be said to defend that. Only saving grace was our first server was friendly and really apologetic about the service.

Sidenote - please fix your haunted looking menus. They're like pieces of used, greasy brown tissue. Please laminate them or print on heavier paper even just for cleanliness sake. If you're gonna charge high prices for such small portions, the least management can do is print the menu on decent paper.

Paintings on the walls are nice though. We got to really enjoying those while waiting...

Allergies Beware: This has been our families go to place since first opening. Coming from Dublin 8, it is a great place to bring both my youngish children and meet their local aunts and relatives all born and bred in the local community. However of late we have felt most unwelcome. Every time we visit ( weekly during the summer months) we stipulate that we have severe anaphylaxis to peanuts and whilst we are made fully aware of the risk of cross contamination ( the life of a person with an allergy everywhere) we state our order ( toast with absolutely no peanut butter on the side) just extra butter and other add ons are ordered , yet in the past 2 weeks alone our food has come out with a very large portion of peanut butter on the side of the plate. We then state again that we just want toast and butter, the toast is then never replaced ( although the risk now is huge as the toast and peanut butter are sharing a plate) and the peanut butter is swapped out for butter. Today I asked could I very politely give some constructive feedback where upon I was met with " I am just the server and I got it right last week so see the manager" from one member of staff, to another who was working behind the counter with a rather large smirk on her face. I cannot state how serious it is to serve peanut butter to a child who has a severe allergy. I felt like an utter nuisance today. I have never complained before and today I felt that some advice might be of help for the future. I was met with contempt and very passive aggressive behaviour from both members of staff I spoke with. It is hard to have social occasions out when you suffer with allergies but I never try to make a place feel uncomfortable and we are fully aware of risks, but being served something that could be potentially fatal twice in 3 weeks when we have clearly stated it each time. A local community cafe but...

A lovely place with a great concept. Local produce and products sold in the shop and a small but varying menu in the cafe. We went here for a late lunch, and I am afraid, was quite disappointed.

They had run out of most things when we arrived. How a cafe runs out of half the fishes in a 5-6 fish menu is beyond me, in any case, I chose one of the dishes they did have. It arrived luke warm and lacked any flavor. A chili lentil dish that was neither hot or spicy and lacked seasoning.

I wanted a piece of carrot cake and by the time I got around to ordering they had run out of that too. The flourless chocolate cake was nice and I liked the taste but too dense for my liking. Coffee was way to sour for my liking and I left half of it behind.

Maybe it was an off day but this place is not cheap and I expected more. The shop itself is lovely and they have some nice things but overpriced in my opinion.

Staff were nice and friendly and the ambience made up for some of the disappointment. Will give it...

I'm a regular customer here, often getting coffee. Today, I ordered 2 lattes and a croissant to go. We decided to use the 2GoCup initiative offered in the shop. However, to my disappointment, the coffee cups were only filled halfway. I understand that the cups are small, and the barista might have wanted to maintain the same portion, but where is the point of using go cups if they're only half full? This not only looks bad but also significantly dampened my mood. A coffee cup should always be full. If this is due to concerns about the cost of milk or water, I'd suggest adding an extra charge to ensure the cups are filled properly. I'm genuinely upset because this not only ruined my experience, but my coffee also turned cold within minutes as the cup absorbed the heat due to the limited amount of hot liquid. While I have a soft spot for their pastries, I won't be purchasing coffee here again; it's simply not worth it. Today, I wasted money and left with a bad mood.

The venue has a section for take away for their fresh pastries and baked goods. The right side is the seated option where we dined. We were seated by the server but you order at the side table. They bring out the food to you. The establishment is naturally lit brightly and decor reminds me a hipster cafe. The cold brew was mostly ice and served in a small cup. It was consumed in like 3 sips and sadly no refills. I ordered the Bahn Mi meat sandwich. The pickled veggies with the cold pork slices and condiment paired wonderfully! I really enjoyed it. The eggs with beans was very salty but also hearty. The delicious sauce gets soaked into the sour dough bread. The portions were generous. We also indulged in a raspberry cheesecake filled doughnut. The outer part of the donut is sugar coated (maybe better without, personally made it a smidge too sweet). Otherwise, delicious flavor!

The cafe is a bright and cheerful space, with large windows that allow natural light to flood the room, making it feel open and inviting. The seating is a mix of cozy booths and small wooden tables The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with the gentle buzz of conversation and the occasional sound of a barista frothing milk for a cappuccino. One of the cafe's standout dishes is its eggs, which are cooked to perfection. Each plate is carefully prepared and beautifully presented, making every meal feel like a special occasion. After my savory dish, I treat myself to one of the cafe's signature desserts: a gluten-free chocolate delight. Despite being gluten-free, it doesn't compromise on taste or quality, offering the perfect balance of sweetness and depth. The chocolate flavor is intense but not overwhelming, leaving you completely satisfied after every bite.
