Hotel Miramalfi — Attraction in Amalfi

Visited Miramalfi in May of 2023 and it was ful of wonderful details and moments we enjoyed. We ferried in from Positano and Amalfi was the last leg of our trip to the Amalfi Coast. We were immediately fetched by the their shuttle and taken the short trip up to the hotel. Note that we walked the street/sidewalk to town and back several times. It's a typically Amalfi-esq hike uphill but manageable. From the moment we were met, every single person at Miramalfi could not have been kinder and more attentive. Our room wasn't ready so we went straight to the beach club which is one of the most amazing places with its multiple sun areas, extra deep salt water pool. (no it's not heated but still wonderful.) and ladder/stairs into the ocean. Thankfully, there is an elevator to access the club because its perched very far down the cliff. The staff at the beach club, including, Allesandro, Justin and Andrea, (Hope I got those right!) were wonderful and never missed a beat. People in Italy seem to love snacks with their drinks and while we tried to pass on the potatoe chips with only a partial success rate, I was incapable of not eating massive amounts of their incredibly fresh olives. Oh, to have olives like that at home! I booked late so we were in room 66 which was the lowest floor at the end of the hall and was incredibly private and despite being down low still afforded an amazing view of town and the water. Every room at the hotel is surrounded by vines of confederate jasmine so if you leave your slider open, you walk in to it's beautiful smell hitting you in the face. We were welcomed with a bottle of persecco and fresh strawberries. The room was also equipped with a capsule espresso maker (Smeg/Lavazza) that we used every day. The bathroom was typical italy with a small tub but strong shower pressure. Breakfast was exceptional with a combination of buffet and off the menu items included with our stay. We enjoyed the lobby bar and the lower Azure lounge for coctails and had some snacks but sadly were unable to dine at Donna Emma for dinner. The hotel concierge helped us with some bookings and Erika at Donna Emma gave us some great recommendations including the short walk to Atrani which is lovely and has a small museum dedicated to Maurits Escher. Of the three nights we were at the hotel, we had one stormy day and I have to admit, I loved it, I waited for our room to be cleaned and wandered up to the lobby sitting looking out at the clouds and reading a book. The hotel never seemed very crowded and I enjoyed how relaxing it felt. We were in Italy for 11 amazing days but this hotel will always be the highpoint. If you are able to visit, I cannot...

The location is the best and this is what gives the value of the hotel. This was my second visit to the hotel as my first experience was unforgettable. I was encouraged to come back by the owner, she is a wonderful woman. The son Alessandro was assigned to bookings and rates. I communicated my vacation schedule and budget very well before arrival and on arrival I was promised to be given room upgrades from the entry level. I was OK to change rooms and respected the availabilities as I was promised to get upgraded and given the details of the assigned rooms, so I didnt worry. The last night of my stay I get surprised, he assigned a downgraded room different from what was agreed. And the good room was given to other guests compromising my stay without even bothering to communicate to me and assumed I was OK with the changes and been accused I was picky as an Arab. I decided to check out and leave as this action was disrespectful. Was compensated and returned half of the payment. Other staff members were very nice considering the situation but what can they do! Some of the team members, especially who are in duty of assigning rooms, need to understand and get more training in mitigation and prevention of client dissatisfaction before getting into any process of compensation and poor credibility. Availabilities and transparency in communication could have been appreciated from the beginning. I will never go back again ! ⚠️⚠️This added paragraph is a reply to the owner comment to my review below: I believe that Lying and denying a wrong behaviour tells alot about the level of incredibility some of the hotel members has. I am highly confident that the accusation was real that caused me change my bookings plans and schedule for being disrespected in all levels. It was said to me by Alessandro, who apologised for it afterwards, (latifa, I take it personal that you disliked the room, I know you are picky as an Arab but this is the only availability we have at the moment or you can go back to the first room you stayed). Either it was intentional to say or unintentional, it was a bad behaviour and zero tolerance action by a professional works in hospitality. By far, the best hotel I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. My wife and I traveled through Italy for our honeymoon and decided to stay at the Miramalfi for 3 nights. From the moment we arrived by ferry, the shuttle picked us up within minutes from the town center.

The bellman and reception staff greeted us with incredible warmth and made us feel right at home with some fresh lemonade. They invited us to relax on the patio while we waited for our room to be ready. I believe they upgraded us due to the hotel being quiet at the time, and because we mentioned that it was our honeymoon.

We dined at the restaurant on our first night and were blown away by the extraordinary service. The pastas and appetizers were delicious, the wine selection was amazing, and the entire service staff was top-notch. Mattia, the sommelier, gave us a thorough understanding of the local wine selection and knew exactly what we were looking for. Francesco, the restaurant manager, made us feel like family and ensured that everything ran smoothly.

We had breakfast there every day, as it was included, and the spread was out of this world. The service was impeccable, and the Spanish woman who I believe was the restaurant manager even came up to us, knowing our names, which I thought was impressive.

We visited the beach club three days in a row because the views, drinks, and service were stellar. I wish I could remember the names of the two servers who were incredibly welcoming and accommodating to any request.

The room we stayed in was a double balcony room on the same floor as the front desk. The bed was perfectly comfortable, and the hotel staff would turn it down two or even three times a day, which was a lovely touch. Everything in the room was of high quality, including the toiletries.

What made this stay truly unforgettable was the pianist, Lorenzo. He played any request masterfully and remembered a song that brought my wife to tears. He also played a few of our other requests throughout our stay and even played it again on our last day during breakfast. I've never experienced such a genuinely warm group of people in such a tasteful hotel.

Needless to say, we will ONLY stay at the Miramalfi when we return to the Amalfi...
