Instead of Positano, my partner and I had lunch in Amalfi. Coincidentally fell for this restaurant our choice was next to the beach with a nice view we thought everything would be fine here. "Out of line" that is, without a reserved place, we were admitted with great difficulty and seated. My couple asked for a salad and I asked for a "Spagheti Frutti di Mare" i.e. Spaghetti with seafood and cherry tomatoes. My girlfriend got the salad, which I could taste pretty soon myself as she didn’t like it. It was unsalted ... as if the roadside gas had been boiled a little and some olives had been added. In spaghetti, the fruits of their sea were downgraded to the fruit of the sea in the meantime. And this would be the mussel in which the whole bowl could have contained 50g of mussel casings. The rest of the crispy dough was one or two halved cherry tomatoes. We also asked for 2 soft drinks. It all cost 50 euros and we got up from the table so that my eyes would then fall out of hunger and anger. Never come back. I do...
Read moreOur tour guide of the Amalfi Coast brought us to this restaurant- he basically obligated us to eat there as a group, it seemed in exchange for them letting him park his van there while we did a boat ride. I’m sure the guide upcharged the meal, who knows. What I do know is that it was one of the worst most-overpriced meals I’ve had in my life. The service was horrible and the food was truly an embarrassment for 20 euros. A piece of bread with a couple chunks of tomato and disgusting gnocchis. I’ve cooked better gnocchis from a package and canned tomato sauce. The only other option given (only because one guest asked) was spaghetti bolognese which was equally disgusting and everyone left their food on their plate as inedible. The food was practically thrown at us by waiters with a bad attitude. In our entire trip to Italy, this meal stands out as a singular low point. Disappointing for a place as...
Read moreThis place is a restaurant for the tour groups. Location is really nice with a great view of the sea. We came here because we met family who travelled as part of a tour group who were having lunch here.
We were well aware of the low rating on the reviews. but thought if we ordered a la carte it would not be as bad. Sadly that was a mistake. We ordered the Frita mista and the home specialty mixed seafood pasta.Scaliaghti. I ate a mussel that just tasted off. That ruined my meal immediately and for a moment I was cared to get sick. Luckily that didn’t happen. I am dissappointed that these relatively simple dishes was so bad especially if you considered the prices. To me its a tourist trap.
Walking around I saw local tourists and they seem to simply order a pasta marinara and just ate simple and enjoy the view and atmosphere. That’s what we...
