Enchanting Positano: A Slice of Heaven on the Amalfi Coastâ
đđđđđ
Positano: A gem nestled along the rugged cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, where azure waters kiss sun-kissed beaches and bougainvillea-draped villas cling to the hillsides. My stay here was nothing short of magical.
The Views: Prepare to lose your breath. Positanoâs vistas are straight from a dream. Whether sipping limoncello on a terrace or strolling down Via Cristoforo Colombo, every angle reveals a postcard-worthy scene. The iconic Spiaggia Grande, with its colorful umbrellas, beckons for lazy afternoons.
The Locals: Warm, spirited, and unabashedly proud of their town, the locals welcome you with open arms. Yes, theyâll take your money (with a wink), but itâs all part of the charm. Their recommendationsâlike the best gelato at Buca di Baccoâare spot-on.
Dining Delights: Seafood aficionados, rejoice! From La Tagliataâs cliffside feasts to Da Vincenzoâs lemon-infused pasta, Positano tantalizes taste buds. Pair your meal with a crisp Falanghina wine, and youâre in culinary heaven.
Beach Bliss: Marina Grande, Fornillo, and Lauritoâeach beach has its allure. Sunbathe, swim, and let the waves serenade you. Just be prepared for the pebbly shoresâbring comfy sandals!
Fashion & Craftsmanship: Positanoâs fashion legacy dates back to the '60s. Wander the narrow streets, adorned with boutiques showcasing handmade linen dresses and leather sandals. Youâll leave with a piece of Positanoâs soul.
Final Verdict: Positano stole my heart. Itâs the kind of place that lingers in your memories, whispering, âCome back soon.â So, pack your sunhat, embrace the dolce vita, and let Positano weave its magic. đŽđšâ¤ď¸

Wow, ok I have not yet covered Napoli much, as I donât want to offend some of my Italian brethren!
BUT, when taking the long-winding road to Amalfi, then one is definitely in for a drive of a lifetime!
Total trip (driving only) about 4 hours, through tight & winding roads up and down the mountains! But when finally reaching Amalfi (our first stop) it becomes clear why this is such a fantastic hot spot! Nestled in the mountain side one is in awe of what it takes to build such environment!
The town itself, stunning, super small yet clean, a favourite with tourists for sure, we can only imagine what this place must be like during the high seasons!
Next stop was Posettino, also build into the mountain side, a single one way road from high up steep down (we almost missed the turn to Sorrento, which would have added another 45 minutes driving) nice place, if you like hiking up & down, surely a choice for you!!đđđ
Sorrento, this is one wonderful city, so totally different to Napoli! Super organised, clean, some great views, even a Leading Hotel of the world here, which looks so totally inviting!
Wife asked why we could not have stayed here and do only a 2-3 day trip to Napoli? Good question!
Overall we spend 8 hours on the road on this spectacular drive through stunning scenery and interesting stops!
Super highly recommended!
Enjoy
PS, while I was driving most of the photoâs taken donât quite reflect some of the scenery where I simply could not stop! Pity
