Ristorante Dei Cappuccini — Restaurant in Amalfi

09/06/25 don't get excited easily in my life but here we are talking about a UNIQUE & DELICIOUS experience, a must to your list while passing or been around the Amalfi Coast! Experience which includes taste, service, hospitality, kindness, view, history and environment beyond any expectation!! My first time seeking the 6th star for a review. Let's talk about the main reason of what offer this restaurant , the food experience. You ll see bellow the presentations of dishes and have your opinion but about the taste oh my god was 10/10 absolutely amazing (if i exclude 2 tastes which i personally dont prefer but was in our menu, my wife it was pleased also from them). We are from Greece, we know what hospitality means is in our blood, here we felt like home with the hospitality and kindness for each one that we meet from down street which is the elevator till out at the balcony of the restaurant we stayed to eat. We had the honor to meet there the manager of the restaurant an original and very friendly person Mr. Angelo, the very sweet and precise at service Mr. Harsh and of course the Super Chef Mr. Claudio, Professionals! Bellow at 2 lvl i think we saw ruins inside hotel, a beautiful path passing beside the garden of the chef with many flowers around! i ll close with maybe the best view at Amalfi, photos are not represent all that magic view. Special thanks to Mr Angelo who help to have that MAGNIFICENT at all experience. we ll never forget it , words are not enought to express all that i have in my mind!! During our visit, we had the pleasure of interacting with some outstanding staff members. Christian, who attended to us, was incredibly kind and lovely, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Simona, another member of the staff, treated us like royalty, attending to our every need with grace and attentiveness. Marcello, who took care of us during our time at the restaurant, made us feel like we were part of his own family, adding a personal touch that enhanced the overall dining experience.

Dining at Dei Cappuccini was nothing short of magical—a feast for the senses and the soul. Perched inside the historic Anantara Convento di Amalfi (a beautifully preserved 13th-century convent), the restaurant delivers sublime ambience, impeccable service, and creative, unforgettable food.

You’re embraced by centuries of history as you approach: cloisters, a Baroque church, and vaulted courtyards that hark back to another time. The terrace overlooks Amalfi Bay—breath-taking views that turn even the most skeptical visitor into a believer in Amalfi’s fairytale charm. From this vantage, the town spreads below like something out of a storybook.  

Attentive, warm, and entirely unfussy—staff anticipated needs before they were voiced. Every moment felt effortless and deeply personal, without the slightest hint of pretension. The setting truly invites you to relax and savor both the place and the people.  

A modern reinterpretation of heritage recipes—dishes crafted from fresh, regional ingredients, some even culled from the convent’s own gardens. The bread ritual alone—grissini, baked pagnotta, and flatbread symbolizing monks’ quills and papers—sets the mood. Expect tasting menus that blend past and future, with standout seafood, classic cannelloni (invented here in 1924!), and inventive desserts like lemon cake and artisan liqueurs.    Before—or after—your meal, head to the 4th floor chapel and original courtyard. Their preserved beauty is enchanting, though some visitors note it’s quiet and contemplative rather than exhibition-like. Still, it’s a sacred moment of history that enhances the overall experience.
