I Panini di Mirò — Restaurant in Bologna

Update: the response I received from the restaurant would make me give zero stars if I could. The owner messaged me, not really apologizing, but demanding I remove the review. Apparently only “some people” can pay after, from what I read/understood? Interesting. They did offer me to come, explain and apologize (yes, me) , but I felt intimidated by the tone of the message. He sent another message, which felt a little threatening. He unsent his messages a month later. Perhaps he realized what he said was pretty messed up? I would hope so, but still. I thought I’d share this update of my experience. Google won’t let me post the dm screenshots, but I have them if asked.

I’m disappointed, because I like going here for drinks and usually the staff is nice. And normally I wouldn’t make a review, but it was bad. I guess if I’m being discriminated against, I’m not welcomed anyway (context, I am black) 🤷‍♀️

I went for a beer and normally you pay after. They told me there was an open table, so I went. Then, the guy tells me I have to come back and pay. Okay that’s fine. But then, I see that other people are paying after they finished eating. So why am I singled out? It didn’t seem right. I think they should just decide whether or not people pay before or after. I just visited this place and had an amazing experience with the customer service until the woman who was bringing our the sandwiches brought us out the wrong ones. We weren’t to know this as we had just ordered upon the recommendation of the man who took our order. When she realised we had the wrong ones(we had taken a bite) she violently swore at us in italian and began to berate us in front of all the other customers, shouting ‘why, why, why, why?’ and using what I was assured by my partner is the most offensive italian swear word. Panini di Mirò should definitely be on your list when you visit Bologna. We've been there 3 times - Aperol Spitz and the best paninis in town. There's a list of probably over 50 panini constellations. I‘m not joking. But the best thing is that you can simply put your paninis together however you like. Just write your favourite ingredients on the little notepad and off you go. Also suitable for vegetarians. It's cosy to sit there in the sun or in the evening atmosphere and discover the hustle and bustle of the area. The service is authentic, friendly and fast....
