Impressive ancient Roman baths, right under the feet of the very busy Elephants Square of Catania. It feels a bit magic once you find it, days after running around the area clueless about what is underneath.

Very easy to miss, but it's a definite must for visitors of Catania, specially since it only takes 5-10 minutes to see (quite small). Tickets are available at the diocesan museum, to the right of the cathedral, between the 2 souvenir shops. Costs about 5-6 euros per person.

If you like caves and underground exploration, you...

The most beautiful point of view of Catania. Don’t forget to go to the Diocecian Museum just net to the Carlos V door. With the ticket you can access to the Achiles Termes ruins just under the Cathedral. If you look carefully, a little river falls into the sea under the fountain next to the oudoor place. The Cathedral itself is build over the rest of an antique Roman (Greek?) bath. Who know how big this structure was… According to the size of the city (theatro, etc…) i would guess that the Achiles Terms was as big as...

Very close to duomo but it was difficult to reach it. You have to buy a ticket in the information Center next to it. in the very morning it’s quite tricky - we thought it was closed. Visiting takes approx 10 minutes but I still recommend it just to feel the place and the history
