In Florence and not sure what to do? Head straight to the HZERO museum. It’s not your typical museum, and that’s exactly what makes it special. Whether you’re into trains, design, architecture, or just curious about something different—this place is worth your time.

HZERO is home to one of the largest model railways in Europe, and it’s stunning. The level of detail is incredible. Every piece of the landscape—mountains, towns, stations, tunnels—is crafted with precision. Trains move through the miniature world, lights shift from day to night, and the whole scene feels alive.

What sets HZERO apart is how it mixes technical skill with artistic style. It’s not just a model—it’s a full experience. The space is beautifully designed, modern, and calming. You don’t just look at trains—you walk into a different world.

It’s also not overwhelming. You can take your time, walk around, and just enjoy the details. You’ll notice something new every few steps—tiny figures going about their day, moving trains crossing bridges, perfectly scaled buildings tucked into hillsides.

Even if you’re not usually into this kind of thing, it’s hard not to be impressed. It’s quiet, creative, and surprisingly moving. A great break from the usual tourist spots.

And the best part? It’s right in the center of Florence. Easy to reach, easy to enjoy.

In short: if you’re in Florence, don’t miss HZERO. It’s a hidden gem, full of wonder and...

This was one of the absolute best places I ever been in Florence. The history behind this masterpiece, told at the top floor by an incredible video, was so fascinating. The incredible details on the trains, the intricate system of railways and interchanges honestly blew my mind. There is so much more than the rails themselves though! Every part of the museum is a little story that gets enhanced by its blending with the entirety of the masterpiece. We arrived in the early morning and so the museum was empty, all for ourselves. The atmosphere was breathtaking.

I cannot stress enough how good the museum was. I am not linked to them by any capacity but honestly I would like to!! This is one of those places where you wish to donate more to see even more parts built! The workshop at the top floor works towards this goal and to fix any problems literally in, quite literally, real time. This kind of organic optimisation is so satisfying.. I wish more companies operated like this.

If you are around, stop by and you'll have a chance to be a part of this...

A Dream Come True for Train-Loving Kids – A Must-Visit in Florence!

We visited the train museum in Florence with our 3-year-old son—and he loved it so much, we went back the next day! It’s truly a magical place for kids who are fascinated by trains. From the moment we walked in, his eyes lit up at the sight of the historic locomotives, model trains, and interactive exhibits.

The museum is incredibly well-organized and child-friendly, with plenty of space to explore that made the experience hands-on and exciting. Our little one couldn’t get enough of watching the miniature trains in action.

Staff were welcoming, and the environment felt safe, clean, and easy to navigate with a toddler. It’s educational, fun, and full of charm. Honestly, it was one of the best experiences we had in Florence as a family.

If you're traveling with young children—especially train...

What a gem of a place. I went with my friend who is a train geek, accompanying him and initially thinking I'd find it boring. I couldn't be more wrong! The inside is magical - this dynamic, realistic, fascinating landscape accompanied with wonderful audiovisual backdrops by projector. Knowing nothing about trains was no barrier to enjoyment - the simple pleasure of seeing this miniature world was plenty. We ended up spending nearly 2 hours here, soaking in the minuscule details. The highlight had to be when the scene went to it's night time, and all the street lights came on. It was also a delightfully cool temperature, which was a relief in the heat of Florence's summer. I would have enjoyed it even more if there were some bits of information about the trains for people like me who know nothing to read.
