A beautiful and charming cafe located right in between the galleries of the Pinacoteca de Brera which is of course not without its charms! It’s fun to be able to walk through after admiring Caravaggios and Tintorettos and then sit down for some coffee and pastries. The cafe tables and decor are beyond what you would expect, very chic but simultaneously welcoming and cozy despite the cavernous space and very tall ceilings. The staff was very accommodating when we requested extra ice and the cannolis are filled with their ricotta cream when you order it so it’s not soggy. Getting some waiter service after you sit down was definitely challenging and it seems the staff were all running around doing one thing or another. It can be improved with a more attentive service. You’re expected to pay up front which is understandable given the more casual feel of the place but I would inform clients of that as they are ordering. The space lacks a connected bathroom but it’s easily accessible down the open corridor.

Before we finished eating, the service staff with his very mean smirk couldn't wait to urge us to take the credit card machine and let us hurry up and check out, this bar is also the first time in three years in Italy that I have seen tap water charges, the price is high, the service is not good, and there is no more discount for the students of the college.....

Wanted a dessert after passing through the museum, and well, the chocolate cake was dry (finished the coffee before the cake) and the latte macchiato was meh, which is kinda bad considering the Italian standard. I was also charged when they brought the food to the table, which I found kind of rude!

We love literary and museum cafés, but this was horrible experience. We've been sitting outside and were getting little attention from the waiters. Two waiters were serving our tables and were constantly missing the items off the order. It took them more than half hour to bring two desserts (after we asked both of them few times), and one of the waiters took it as his personal task to prove it wasn't his fault, but ours. After half hour the only thing we expected, is the plate with dessert and "sorry guys that we missed the order and you had to wait, enjoy". But he was trying to prove his point, was patronising ("listen to me young lady") and was sending us on a guilt trip. This was most arrogant and toxic service that I had in my life, the waiter even used F-word. However tired the person could have been, he had absolutely no right to speak to us like that. We had to ask him to stop taking to us and leave from our table. I'm putting two stars only for the professionalism of the manager, who tried to help and understand the situation. But I really hope that the guy will be fired, so he will not ruin the experience of...
