This is undoubtedly one of Milan's most iconic hotels situated in a perfect location about a 10 min walk to the Duomo. If you like clean lines and uber modern minimalist design then this is the place for you. The attention to detail is impeccable with everything from the ultra modren designer furniture, the catwalk coiffured staff to the sleek black complimentary toothbrush. The service is exemplary and the staff are attentive, available and quick to help.
However, for us it was definitely style over substance.
We spent 3 nights in a deluxe room, which was just about large enough to accommodate an ample king size bed and not much else. This led into a bathroom which was almost as big as the sleeping space with a lovely large bath to relax in after a hard day of designer shopping, and off which there was a very claustrophobic toilet in which those who have a daily practise in yoga definitely have an advantage in manoeuvring around than those of us with a more rigid spine. Next door is another equally shoebox sized shower room, but the shower itself is really powerful once you figure out how it works. I guess the space in the bathroom is there to cater to those who need room to dress up to the standards expected by the Milanese jet set and then be able to do a mini catwalk while admiring themselves from numerous perspectives in the multiple ceiling to floor mirrors. Unfortunately though, the lighting is quite poor in here and my wife found it difficult to apply makeup with any degree of certainty.
It all looks great but it's not particularly practical and definitely not designed by anyone who intends to stay in this space for anything more than a few days. A little more thought given to the proportions of the room would have greatly helped in terms of livability. 3 nights was ok but 4 would definitely have been pushing it!
I think this is the entry level room and I'm not sure how it compares to other more spacious rooms where I would hope you would not have these issues.
Nice pop up TV at the end of your bed to which you can cast your phone or log in to your Netflix or Prime accounts. The bed itself is very comfortable, as you would no doubt expect with options for bed linens and pillows on request.
Everything in the room is controlled by an iPad which is very cool (initially) but after a while you feel like just wanting to flick a switch rather than scrolling through multiple menus just to adjust the lighting in the room, or close the curtains, or adjust the volume on the TV. And at 3am in the morning it's no fun when you just want to switch on the bathroom light without 1. Being blinded by the ipad, 2. Being blinded by accidentally turning on all the lights to max or 3. accidentally activating the pop up tv or opening the curtains.
The Spa at the top of the hotel has a large jacuzzi but no pool. We used it a couple of times and it's definitely a relaxing space to unwind.
All in all, we had a great stay. The hotel is not to our taste and we wouldn't hurry back but that shouldn't put you off. No doubt the Armani Milan will certainly impress many and well worth a short stay if only to say you've done it. There are some very nice hotels in Milan in this luxury price bracket so do...
Read moreThe service was truly outstanding. Some of the staff were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make the experience seamless and memorable, specially GianPaulo was always with a smile and made every attempt to approach me by my name and made sure I was always comfortable, also at the bar Federico was very personable and warm asking if I needed anything at all times, Andrea at the front desk was very polite and courteous!!
The location couldn't be better. It's just a short walk to Via Montenapoleone, the Duomo, and some of the city's best dining and shopping spots. Very easy walk everywhere, safe location and impeccable premises!!
Everything was so sleek and modern, elegantly designed rooms that reflect the brand’s signature too minimalist aesthetic, however it was a bit on the boring side for me, emotionless for sure!!! Being in the #fashion business myself I needed some more inspiration on my surroundings!!
The bathroom amenities were another standout—luxurious, high-quality, and very much in line with the overall feel of understated sophistication.
If you're looking for a hotel with warmth, charm, or a touch of personality, this might feel a little sterile, not vibrant nor lively at all!! I would say dark, quiet, you wouldn’t come across anyone in the hallway, no many common areas to hang out, not a garden, only one bar, the only bar!!
The biggest disappointment was the Wi-Fi. It didn’t work in the room, and I was told at the front desk that it was only complimentary in the common areas and that the router goes in and out at times. For a hotel at this level, that felt out of step and frankly inconvenient. I had to come to the lobby every night to work on my laptop since it didn’t work in the room ;(
Visually stunning hotel ideal for lovers of minimalist luxury, but a few details left the experience feeling a bit cold and incomplete!!
But what truly won me over was a thoughtful gesture on my final day they delivered breakfast to my room, a warm and generous touch that left a lasting impression. That moment of kindness and attentiveness helped soften the shortcomings and showed the level of care that the #Armani brand aspires to.
Thank you...
Read moreI stayed in Room 403 on October 13–14, 2025. The Armani Hotel Milano still carries its elegant design spirit, but the overall maintenance has clearly fallen behind the brand’s reputation. The cabinet leather was peeling, the cold-water tap came loose and had to be fixed manually, the bathroom sliding door couldn’t close properly, and the 2-in-1 shampoo pump was broken. The staff remained polite, but for €1,500 per night (excluding breakfast), such maintenance issues were disappointing.
On the evening of the 13th, after taking a shower, I went downstairs to report these problems to the night-shift staff. He offered a sincere apology and assured me he would inform the next day’s manager about the situation. However, the following morning at 8 a.m., when we checked out, the duty manager — dressed in a white shirt and black suit — gave us a very standard, impersonal apology. Unlike the night-shift gentleman, he showed no real sense of concern. Perhaps in his eyes, we were just two guests pointing out faults in hopes of getting a free breakfast.
Our trip had followed an eight-day Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection voyage and two perfect nights at Six Senses Rome. Instead of returning to Mandarin Oriental Milan, where we had an excellent experience on our last visit, we decided to give Armani Hotel a chance as our final stop before flying home. Unfortunately, this short stay turned out to be the only disappointing part of an otherwise wonderful European journey.
I understand that maintaining a luxury property is never easy — especially one carrying such an iconic name. But when a single room presents four separate issues in one night, and management responds with a routine apology and an offer of free breakfast, it suggests a deeper operational problem.
If you ask what would have made me satisfied, my answer is simple: to see real maintenance and follow-up, not temporary gestures or symbolic compensations. I truly hope future guests will not leave this hotel with the same...
