Piazza Duca d'Aosta, situated in the heart of Milan near the Central Railway Station, offers a contrasting urban experience compared to the historical charm of the city's cathedrals. This modern square is surrounded by sleek, contemporary buildings and serves as a bustling transportation hub. The square's focal point is the impressive skyscraper, which adds a touch of modernity to Milan's architectural landscape. The surrounding shops, cafes, and offices contribute to a lively atmosphere, making it a hub of activity throughout the day. While the square lacks the historical richness of some other Milanese landmarks, its strategic location makes it a practical meeting point and a gateway to exploring the city. The constant flow of people adds a dynamic energy, reflecting Milan's status as a thriving metropolis. However, the square's aesthetic might not resonate with those seeking classic Italian charm, as it embodies a more contemporary and business-oriented ambiance. Nonetheless, for travelers passing through or those appreciating modern urban spaces, Piazza Duca d'Aosta serves as a functional and vibrant crossroads in the heart of Milan.

Considering it’s right next to the main central station, Piazza Duca d’Aosta is a surprisingly pretty part of Milan! It made for a great view from my hotel window and was for a helpful way-mark when trying to navigate the city around the hotel (Hotel B&B Aosta)

Usually Italy impresses you with their beautiful architecture that takes you centuries back in almost all of their famous buildings and this train station is no different, the place has many different shops including restaurants. But you need to be careful here even though many policemen and securities are around but there will be still some people who stares at you that you need simply to ignore them and take care of your belongings.

The Piazza Duca d'Aosta is a large and busy square in Milan, Italy, where Milan's Central Station, the Pirelli Tower and the city's business district is located. It is well known for containing the architecturally impressive and majestic Milan Central Station.

Leaving the train station you are greeted with a spectacular open view of statues and a great mix of old stone and new glass buildings. Watch out, there are lots of people harassing you to buy (most likely stolen or broken) useless and cheap “technology”.

Easily one of the most authentic and lovely train stations. Very old, artistic, nice vibes. The signs leading to car rental offices were not clear, neither was it clear how to reach another shop I wanted. Loved visiting this place.
