For a small price (7 euro for single person, 5 euro for 2 people) this museum shows you the history of Noto and surrounding settlements during the pre-historic, antique and late-antique periods. In terms of the objects on display (of course) it doesn't compare to the archeaological museum of Syracuse, but it makes up for it with a clear chronological and focused storyline. All information is neatly translated in English as well, and everything is nicely lit and displayed (this is not a given, since all of these things are greatly lacking in the big museum in syracuse). Read moreI was underwhelmed by the expo. The information was very matter of fact and the explanations probably only accessible for people who have knowledge about archeology. It is very technical and dry. There was a life size replica of the excavation sight (?) with no context at all. There are so many ways to bring ancient history back to life with modern technology, and I think they were all missed. The entrance cost seven euros and is reasonable to my estimation, but I still wouldn’t recommend this museum unless you are a nerd of archaeology or need to kill some time in the city...

You will get insulted in Italian by restaurant owners after you give them a tip, charged insane prices that are in no relation to what is written in the menu for the food you order, and a simple question to the staff at this museum will be met with aggression and annoyance.
