Literally the most terrible mall I’ve ever visited! Not hospitable here at all! We are Americans on vacation with our American vaccination card. We had mall security called on us at the McDonald’s because we did not have Italian vaccination passes. We are tourists and we’re told upon entry that our National vaccination passes were sufficient. However the manager at this McDonald’s upset yelled and screamed at us like we were criminals. He would not let us eat there and refused to refund our money since he didn’t want us to eat there. He told us to take my 9 year old outside in the cold and rain to eat. If I could give zero stars for this mall and this location I would. He called mall security and they too did not understand Italian law and told us we must eat outside. My child was very upset by the whole situation. It really tainted my view of Rome and Italy. I believe in vaccinations and my husband and I are fully vaccinated with proper documentation, yet we were treated in such a derogatory manner and literally escorted out into the rain where my child had to eat her unhappy meal in the cold rain after sunset. No one stepped in in our defense- yet everywhere there were signs about Italy being open again for tourism after covid yet an entire mall ostracized us as vaccinated tourists with valid cdc vaccination cards!!! Truly felt unwelcome and honestly helpless as we were forced to eat in the cold rain outside with my 9 year old! So disrespectful! If I could leave zero stars I would! Tourists Please be mindful before visiting this mall and most especially...
Read moreAlthough I have not been to Rome....yet....hoping to go in 2024, I felt compelled to comment on a blatantly ignorant review by a Chassie Selouane. This was the ultimate in the ignorant, entitled American complaining that their American proof of vaccination wasn't enough to eat in a MacDonald's. Apparently they were told by someone else that it would. Well, a little education for you: We cancelled our trip this year because our travel agent told us that she could guarantee that something would go wrong with the trip- anything from being turned away at a shop, restaurant, or major tourist attraction to actually being turned back at an airport and our trip done right there. Even though our American or Canadian proof of vaccination is supposedly and "officially" the equivalent of the EU Super Green card, in reality each customs officer, restaurant or shop owner can decide for themselves that it is not sufficient. If this person had done their homework like I did, they would have stayed home, and not blustered their way into Europe like the worst stereotype of the loud-mouthed American tourist. You want to travel in these continuing Covid times, especially when Italy is STILL in a state of emergency, you assume the risks. Ignorance...
Read morePorta di Roma is one of the best shopping centers I’ve visited in Italy, offering a huge variety of stores, restaurants, and services all under one roof. From international brands to Italian favorites, the selection of shops is excellent — whether you’re looking for fashion, electronics, sports gear, or home items, you’re bound to find what you need. The layout is spacious and modern, making it easy to walk around without feeling cramped, even when it’s busy.
What I really appreciated was the balance between shopping and leisure. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants to take a break, ranging from casual bites to sit-down meals. The food court has a wide variety, which makes it perfect if you’re visiting with family or friends who all want different things.
The mall is also very clean, well-organized, and accessible, with good facilities like parking, rest areas, and clear signage. It feels like a place where you can comfortably spend several hours without rushing.
Overall, Porta di Roma is more than just a shopping trip — it’s a full experience. Whether you’re browsing, dining, or just walking around, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone in Rome who enjoys modern shopping in a...
