Skip Venice and visit Murano! Murano is an island 10 min boat ride away from Venice. A little smaller and less crowded than Venice. Murano is the second largest island in the Venetian Lagoon, after Venice. Currently, it has 7,000 inhabitants and it is world-renowned for its glassware, attracting millions of tourists every year. Here is what you can do in Murano: - Museo Del Vetro Glass Museum - Basilica di Santa Maria e San Donato - Chiesa di San Pietro Martire - Campo Santo Stefano - Palazzo de Mulo - Murano Glass Factories - Venetian glass shop #murano #visitmurano #venice #venicetravel #visitvenice #italy #visititaly #italia #italy_vacations #italytravel #beautifuldestinations #travel

Our visit to the Murano Glass Museum was a delightful experience. We purchased a family ticket for two adults and two children at €28, which we found to be reasonably priced. There was no queue at the entrance, allowing us to begin our exploration promptly. The entire tour took approximately 40 minutes, a suitable duration for families with young children. The museum's collection was impressive, showcasing glass art from the ~1850s to contemporary pieces. The exhibits were well-curated, offering a chronological journey through the evolution of glassmaking. Particularly noteworthy was the display of uranium glassware, which glowed under ultraviolet light, providing an educational and visually captivating experience. The museum is housed in a baroque-style building, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the visit. Accessibility is well-considered, with wheelchair access available throughout the facility. Photography is generally permitted, though flash photography is restricted to protect the artworks. I would have liked the museum to show more on the glass making is done, there was only a short video a one.point. it would have been great to see a live demonstration of even been able to some supervised work. Overall, the Murano Glass Museum offers an enriching experience for visitors of all ages. Its combination of historical and modern glass art, coupled with thoughtful amenities, makes it a worthwhile destination for those interested in the art and history of glassmaking. ---

Disgusting museum management. We got there with a pre-paid Venice box where this Museum was clearly and explicitly included. They refused us entry saying they didn't know anything about it. What bothered me the most was the cashier calling his 'superior' over the phone in front of me and saying, loudly and perfectly audible to me: ''It's some sort of 'depliant', looks like something fake'' etc. Not only I've paid already the price of that museum in advance and been refused entry nonetheless (I entered all other museums in Venice without problems) but I'm even called a fraudster? Are you crazy??? At the end, the cashier had to call another superior who wasn't reachable, so she had to send a Whatsapp message to him but her mobile phone didn't support Whatsapp (Sigh!) so she asked another colleague passing by to give her mobile phone to send a Whatsapp message to this non-existent Manager, so me and my wife decided to call it a day and leave the premises. On my way out she even had the cheek to say 'Thanks, Bye'. This has been the rudest, most amateurish and unprofessional museum I've ever been in (or to be precise I've never been in). Ridiculous management and if you come here with a Venice box you'd better stay in Venice and save your precious holiday time. I hope you take this feeback on board because I'm going to ask a refund to the Venice box and they may well want to ask YOU a refund for this misbehaviour. The fact mentioned happened last Sunday,...

Terrible experience!!

Been here once two years ago. Collections are great and decided to revisit with my family. Bought three tickets, but didn’t realise their last admission is at 5pm until we were at the museum. We were 10 minutes late and they refused our entrance. That’s not a problem at all as that our very own problem.

One very kind female staff asked us to email the museum for a refund and when we asked for the email details, a several staff came stopped her and interrupted our conversation. One old male staff and a mid-age lady kept shouting “closed”, “go”, and “polizia”. None of them speak English and couldn’t communicate properly.

I was stating numerous time we weren’t trying to get in but just wanna get the museum contact, none of them are willing to provide and wouldn’t let us know any of their staff id. They only kept screaming and shouting, even though we were very calm and using all our body gesture to let them know, the only thing we are asking for is the museum’s contact.

All these scenes stopped only until we raised our camera, they calmed down for a bit. And after we stopped recording, they forcefully pushed us out and shut the door immediately, noted that is half an hour until the closing time.

This is very disappointing. Not sure if racism is occured due to...
