My family and I ate here shortly after getting off the vaporetto from Venice. I expected the food to be expensive and tourist quality. It was not. It was reasonably priced and very very good. My son is a pizza connoisseur, he said his was as good as it gets. My wife's liver and onions was brilliant. My steak was amazing. The chips were hot, crispy and seemed to be cooked in fresh oil. The waiters were attentive, friendly and efficient. And had a great jokey sense of humour. Then the bill arrived and I was surprised to see it was not expensive either. It was one of the cheaper full meals we had in our 7 stop Italian tour. What a surprise!! Then to top it all off, more than an hour later I realized I'd left my wallet in the toilet while washing my hands. Upon my return they recognized me and pulled it from behind the bar, where they put it after a waiter found it. They had sent a Facebook message to me, using my driver's license to get my name and picture. All together a great eating experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Pizzeria Marlin Ristorante. In fact, the only good thing about this place is that the owner has a sense of humor while screwing dumb tourists like us and those giving this place high ratings. Mediocre tourist fare where we were charged a €4 x 4 cover charge to sit in a carry out atmosphere with Formica tables. No bread or table cloths, let’s just call it a builtin tip. At least the outside seating has a great view of the canal. Soft drinks were €3.50 including my 10oz coke. On balance the simple Margarita pizza wasn’t wet in the center and had a good taste whereas my son’s brown Lasagna looked bad and tasted even worse. Whatever you order, do not opt for the four-cheese pizza which which someone in our party made the mistake of doing, it includes a nauseating blue cheese that just going to ruin your day. If you want to feel like your in a New Jersey cary out in Italy, this is the...
Read moreRistorante Pizzeria Marlin is a phenomenal taste of Venice. A superb little spot that makes the first time traveling so rewarding.
We took a ferry to Murano without a plan or idea to grab a pizza and watch a glass show. We stopped outside Ristorante Pizzeria Marlin—there was not a single table open at the restaurant. We asked if we could help, and when we checked a table was open and cleared for us (as other guests were leaving).
We sat down, ordered drinks and our drinks arrived within seconds. We ordered pizzas—and they were absolutely phenomal. Our food arrived at the table hot. We felt welcomed and cared for at Ristorante Pizzeria Marlin.
We are definitely coming back here to support this family...
