Ristorante La Fornace — Restaurant in Venice

I have so much to say about this place and little of it is good. To start, genuinely bad food. I ordered the fettuccini with crab and the pasta tasted so bland I was floored. I held on hope that the beef with rosemary would be better but tragically the beef was as tough as a nail and tasted like cardboard.

The server we had was god awful. I first asked him the difference between two wines and curtly responded “this one is better”. It was very rude and super unhelpful. He then begrudgingly took our order after I had to flag him down after 30 minutes. He then ignored us the rest of the night and clearly had no interest in us. I will forever recommend against this place.

Ottimo! We have been there tonight, and it was amazing! First of all we have made reservation per Google- and when we arrived at 7pm our so kind and awesome Waiter told us, that normally in these Novemberdays they close at 6 pm, but because of our online reservation they waited us and just let open for us! My god, how kind and hospitable you are, that you stay for just 2 guests? Unbelievable! ❤️❤️ We ate the Salmon tartar, which was great- and after this the Seabass Filet with Vegetables julienne and Pasta Vongole- which were both adorable! We came back to this restaurant after having a lovely lunch here yesterday, it was highly recommended by google and we were not disappointed. I was with my wife for dinner. Started with fish soup and scallops, see photos, both beautifully presented and delicious. Main course was Spinach and ricotta ravioli and chicken pasta with a creamy sauce. This was not on the menu but the staff and kitchen happily obliged. Probably the best pasta dish I have ever had! Dessert was chocolate flan, dessert of the day and I had pannacota with fruit, also delicious. A very nice complementary drink offered, ice cream, lemon cello and vodka.
