Cooliya — Restaurant in Fujikawaguchiko

While exploring the beautiful lakeside area of Lake Kawaguchi, we found a hidden gem, the Cooliya and wow, what a find! Though it doesn't sit directly overlooking the water, this spot delivers something even better: an absolutely incredible, authentic Japanese atmosphere fused with a sleek, modern bar vibe. The food, energy, and value made it a perfect evening!

Every dish impressed us! •The Wagyu Set was divine – buttery, tender, and cooked to perfection. Worth every yen! •The Grilled Fish Set tasted incredibly fresh, with beautiful simplicity letting the quality shine. •Smoked Salmon Salad was light, flavorful, and the perfect fresh counterpoint. •Matcha Ice Cream was the ideal finish – rich, creamy, and packed with real matcha flavor. Paired everything with smooth, well-chosen Sake: that elevated the meal.

For the exceptional quality of the food (especially that Wagyu!), generous portions, lovely drinks and the unique atmosphere, ¥11,000 total for two people felt incredibly reasonable. This is excellent value for such a memorable dining and...

My wife, father in law and mother in law went out for dinner at this restaurant.

My wife and I shared the tuna & seaweed salad, along with a Wagyu steak box set. My wife asked for drink suggestions, which ended up being a gin cocktail (pure love), which she really enjoyed - and she is not a gin drinker!! I had a draught Sapporo.

We had to sit at the bar because there was no open tables for 4 of us at the time we went (Saturday night around 845pm). Thus, I didn't really catch what my father in law and mother in law ate - but know that they enjoyed it very much.

The quality of the food was superb - Wagyu of course was amazing, but my wife was super impressed by the salad!!!

I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area - seemed to have both tourists and...

I arrived at this place with my family as the first customers of the restaurant for the night.

First of all, I ordered a coke and they gave me an extremely small glass that was hardly 150ml filled with ice and the coke was not even filled to 80% of the glass.

And when I got over the fact that I got only two mouths of coke for 300yen, the waiting time for our food took 45minutes or more. When we asked about it, the waiter casually told us that they were busy as they had many other customers but mind you, we were the first customers to arrive and order our food. On top of that, I could hear guests from other tables complaining about the food taking too long as well so I'm not sure who they were serving food to.

I do not recommend anyone to try...
