Okawa Camera — Local services in Kyoto

Probably the best film developing service I've ever had. Incredibly fast development and very nice owner. He said my scans would be ready in 2 hours but I received them after 30 minutes! This was for 3 rolls of 35mm film, 36 exposures each. A very reasonable price of ¥3300 for all 3 rolls.

Scans are transferred via email. Scan resolution is 2048 × 3090. Scanner is EZ Controller by NORITSU KOKI. If you pick up your negatives a contact sheet/proof will be included.

Film rolls are also very cheap (starting from ¥1550) and a wider variety types. Some of the bigger chain stores in the area had wait times of 10 days for development so I was extremely happy to...

Quick, but incredibly low quality scans. Images are incredibly blurry, not crisp at all, quality severely lacking. When i asked the owner about this, he was rather rude and told me that nothing was wrong, when something clearly was! I’ll need to spend money to scan these again. Do not recommend.

Update: When i re-scanned my images, i was told that my film was processed incorrectly. Okawa Camera had skimped on the processing fluid, so my film was not properly developed, which cannot be fixed, and all my images were low contrast. Okawa Camera ruined my film—Do...

I brought some film to develop and they asked me if I wanted scans/print on top of that. I requested scans but when it turned out it would take them a week to do it I opted out and they pushed film rolls towards me quite aggressively. Then they realised one of the rolls was expired and literally shivered in disbelief/disgust?

No issue with the development but it's not worth the theatrics...
