Rōfū-tei Reception Hall — Attraction in Kyoto

閬風亭（ろうふうてい） 1865（慶応1）年頃再建 殿舎の南端の大広間。軒を深くさし出し、規模の大きな建物ながら、穏やかな姿を見せています。 室内からは、前庭を隔てて東山の阿弥陀ケ峰を借景とした園池の雄大な風景が満喫できます。また、室内は通常の書院造の間取りとは若干異なり、畳を外せば能が演じられるようになっていました。なお、大広間の北西に続く「嘉楽」と呼ばれる一室は、床と付書院をそなえた八畳敷で、1880（明治13）年7月14日、明治天皇がご休息に使われた場所です。 「閬風」とは、中国・崑崙コンロン山脈の頂部にあるといわれる山の名前で、仙人が住むとされており、賓客をお迎えする大書院にふさわしい名前がつけられています。 （東本願寺HPより）
