If you are a foreigner (I am), before you post a bad review please be fair and consider the following. Unless you want to look like a Karen or a John. I would understand if you feel upset after being turned away, but most gyms in Japan have the SAME rules, which are: No tattoos (I wear long sleeves to cover) Gym shoes, meaning not the shoes you walked to them gym with even if it’s proper sports shoes (however this gym does not require) No banging of weights, machine hogging, video/photo taking, and non standard gym exercises. So no skipping or yoga Pilates self stuff, do that in the park lol Being your passport or at least store a copy in your phone. That’s common sense when travelling isn’t it?
If you can’t accept these rules, then you should not workout at a gym in Japan.

Bring your own towel for your sweat or shower. Staff are polite friendly and efficient.

It has a variety of machines and weights, so it caters to all fitness levels. The facility is spotlessly clean, and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping it that way.
The location is super convenient for travelers or locals commuting through Kyoto Station. It’s also open 24/7, which made it so easy to fit in a workout, no matter how busy my schedule was. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and even though it's a self-access gym, they were readily available to answer questions and offer guidance.
Highly recommend Anytime Fitness Kyoto Station for anyone looking for a reliable, clean, and well-equipped gym right in the...
Read moreExcellent gym with more than enough equipment for every type of workout. There are multiple sets of free weights and bar equipment. Very conveniently located near to Kyoto station. The membership options are very flexible. Monthly or per/day payment plans are possible. I paid around ¥8,000 for one month. It’s possible however to pay ¥1,000 for one day’s access. There are thoughtful COVID measures such as automated hand sanitiser and temperature checking when entering. There’s also individual sanitiser spray and cloths for wiping down equipment. I highly...
