A beautiful traditional Japanese building where you can explore the building and admire its stunning architecture and interiors. The staff are very kind and attentive, and the coffee and cookies we had while looking out the window into the gorgeous garden were absolutely delicious! If you are anywhere near this place, and you have the opportunity, it is well worth going out of your way to see! Truly a highlight of Morioka for us!

Definitely recommend checking it out in different seasons for the garden. Usually have different events going on too I think. If you collect three entrance tickets you get one free as well. When I went we got the matcha sweets set for 400 yen. Was really lovely to sit and enjoy it while looking out on the garden.

This old home has a beautiful garden and functions as a museum, cafe, and exhibition space. When I went a woodcarver and dyer were showing their wares. It's a supremely relaxing space that you can spend more time than expected in. Order some matcha and sweet, choose a place to sit, and just chill.

The ticket is 300yen. It’s the historical rich people’s place. I went here during hinamatsuri(雛祭り) exhibition, the atmosphere is relaxed, it makes me want to stay longer. (Not sure about the experience without exhibition though.)

2021年11月13日に夜間ライトアップと聞いて見に行きました。駐車場は近隣のものを利用したほうが良いです。混み合っています。受付はラスト19時まで。散策可能時間は19:30まで。行ってみての感想。とても綺麗だったが、あと２日早く見に行けたらと悔やまれた。見頃を過ぎてしまい葉が丸まりかけ、散り際でした。やはりかなり混むようで、写真目的の人は大勢おりどこに向けても人人々で、平日のタイミングを狙うか、終わり際に入る、等狙わないと紅葉だけをフレームに収めるのは難しいかも。あたり構わず３脚出して「今からここ写真撮りますんで。前入んないでくださいね。」みたいな場所抑えたカメラマンごっこ風な人もいます。録鉄同様、三脚置いたらそこは聖域みたいなの辞めてほしい。テニスコート３つ分？ほどの敷地に私のときは少なくても３０人はいたと思います。池があるのですが落ち葉で埋まり鏡面撮影もなかなか難しく。あと数日早く見に行けたらと。入園は300円でした。さっと見るだけなら30分も掛からない敷地内の広さです。室内からも庭園からも、どこに居ても人のため。「より良い構図を限りある敷地内で探して撮る」のはある意味面白いです。とてもキレイでした。夜間照明は白色の強めの光源なため添付写真のように周囲の緑が反射して全体的に青白くなりがち。でも幻想的かも。色調整してないです。写真はPixel6pro。どうやっても人が入るのでインチキ消しゴムマジック使ってます。

This house and garden are simply gorgeous. I am so thankful that the co-op saved this incredible property. Well worth visiting multiple times just to spend time in the garden.
