Do not come to this shop! If I was allowed to give lower rate I will choose to rate ZERO!!Terrible customer service, especially the duty-free manager with the name“中西“ (if I didn’t remember wrongly). His attitude and the way he treated us was the worst ever!
My family visited the shop on 21/06, we purchased one men’s shaver and one kids hair cutter. We asked sales person to give advice and we clearly told the sales person that we came from New Zealand and we had different voltage of 240. The sales person recommended one shaver and one kids hair cutter and we happily purchased with duty free. (And the process of purchasing was giving us cards with item names on it and then we collected and paid at the duty-free counter. )
Today, when I packed luggage I saw the box of kids hair cutter showed that the voltage was 110, which was made for Japan used only, and I definitely cant use it in New Zealand. I couldn’t believe it. Because it wasn’t the first time I came to Japan and shopping. Everytime the sales person helped double check the voltage. So I checked the other item I bought, men’s shaver, which didn’t show any information about voltage. So we opened the both packages to check the information on the actual items. Another very important reason made us opened the boxes was that there were no sticker or anything seal the items, they were just simple paper boxes which were easily open and check. We opened the boxes but didn’t further touch any taped parts, and we confirmed that the men’s shaver was fine but the kids shaver was with wrong voltage. So we packed back nicely and back to the store.
The sales person was not there so we talked to another sales lady who asked us if we could remember the person’s name that they could do further training to avoid this situation. And today’s sales person recommended one hair cutter with voltage range covered 240. Then this lady led us to the counter, and here came another person who asked us weather we opened the item. We honestly told her the whole story that we opened to check the voltage but didn’t open any taped parts inside. With our permission, this second person opened the box and checked the item to make sure it was not used or damaged and then she said ok to change.
We were waiting and then came this duty-free manager. He told us that because we opened the item so we couldn’t change it. We explained the whole story and we asked him to check, but what we heard was repeated saying because we opened the box. And he told me the sales person didn’t have obligation to check the voltage for customers. I also showed him the men’s shaver which didn’t have any information about the voltage on the outside box. And he said said: “そうですね (I agree).” And that’s it! And he insisted because the box was opened. So I asked him check another new item to compare, but he refused. I asked him show me the policy that if the box was open (without any damage from outside to inside) so the wrong item was not eligible for changing or return. He told me he didn’t have this policy but he said so. It was ridiculous! Without any tiny bit of apologies or felt sorry or suggestion any solution, but just with the cold face and told me no.
I felt so disappointed, and I was so shocked by this manager’s attitude. I felt like he knew I was the tourist so just bully us with his rule. And as a foreigner and a visitor I dont know where I can complain and I feel hopeless.
The manager spoke Japanese so I assume he was a Japanese, the whole process we have a staff girl to translate.
There are so many stores selling similar items so pls pls pls don’t go to this shop, just in case something happened and the not helpful and staff destroy your whole day’s mood and gave you a worst ever...

Unfortunatly i have visited this place in a Hurry, i couldn't spend longer time ,however, the first thing i have noticed at this store that almost all of the Staff were so friendly, and extremly helpful, they don't speak English good enough, but they trying to help as much as they could...
If i ever have another chance to stop by there, it would be a great chance to help me learn more about this place...
Only if you are walking around or visiting the area, i would recommend you to stop by there to take a look, Only if you were withen the area, its NOT a place that you should make a special trip to, so if you have an extra free time and you are visiting the area then its nice to stop by and take a look around.
I gave ((4 STAR)) here because of the nice way the staff were helping all other customers, they tried with their limited english skills to help some foreigners were walking by the store asked for some Directions.

Read moreI was there shopping on May2, 2025 at around 8pm, upstairs at the beauty skincare department, I was looking at Dr. Eri items and then one older women came to me and spoken to me in Mandarin, I said I do not speak madarin in english and she just walked away and then another women came by and asked what i am looking for, I was at the Dr Eri spot ready to grab and pay, and she said the brand im looking at is not good and not popular, she has something better to recommend and shown the one she likes, i end up not liking the one she recommends so i walked away. The first sales associate older women who spoke mandarin went to the second associate, and both start talking in mandarin and looking at me, obviously talking shit about me, shows on their face, maybe becauce im not interested to purchase the item they wanted me to purchase?!? FYI: I can purchase whatever i want, not something You want. Btw, i didnt come to ask for your opinion, You came to me to degrade something i was about to buy and to try to sell your items.
My friend (who does understand mandarin) came look for me right about that time and asked me to leave and then told me those two women were in deed talking shit about me near my back. Basically, those two women (especially the older women) were saying that I was pretenting to not understand mandarin and spoke in english etc.
I just want to say, btw NOT All Asians Speaks or Understands Mandarin, right?? What makes you think i have to understand YOUR language in japan? I rather you speak to me in Japanese or english. Why are you expecting everyone have to know Your Language?? Nonsense.
FYI, im vietnamese, next time you can talk all you want with me in my language. But U don't expect everyone or most people have to understand your mother language especially when you are not even in your own country, you moved to japan for...
