Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street Arcade South end — Attraction in Osaka

Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street Arcade South end is located in Tenma, one of Osaka’s oldest merchant areas. It is possibly the longest shopping street in Japan stretching over 2.5 kilometers long with over 600 shops and restaurants to browse. Unlike Shisaibashi that is more “high end” and catered mainly to the tourists, this place is way “less crowded and noisy” as it’s catering more to the locals.

It's a very very long shopping street that also spans across the main road. Lots of stalls and eateries. My hotel is a hundred meters away so I've even coming back quite often for meals and just to walk around. Best to go in the afternoon to see all the shops open. I think this is my favourite of Osaka's covered streets. With a good selection of small local stores abd restaurants, being quite clean/maintained without losing that Showa charm.
