This was one of the few restaurants I found in my google search for places to eat on our trip that looked pretty great. We came around 9:45am on a Tuesday just before they opened, to a pretty big line, so the word is out on this location. Get there early if you want to be the first seated. We were the first wave, so we were in and out in just over an hour.
When you get in, you first get your table, then you stand in line to order (there is no table ordering services here). Drinks and premade items are given directly to you after you order, hot food is delivered to your table when it's ready.
The atmosphere here is very unique to Japan which adds to the cool factor of the space. It's a two-story restaurant style cafe with seating for around 40+ people, which if you know Japan, is not common for a Cafe. It was a welcome surprise.
We ended up getting a platter of things to try because it all looked so good. Both the girlfriend and I got the local made beer, egg custard and tiramisu. All were amazingly well made with great presentation and were delicious.
For entree, my girlfriend got the Egg Sando and Fries, I got the Carbonara. The Sando tasted great, just wish it had a little more flavor and spice to it. My Carbonara was prefect, wouldn't change a thing.
Overall, it's worth the stop if you can make it before the crowd for...
Read moreDuring my trip home to Tokyo I decided to check out this egg sando place that I saw a tourist post on Insta. I would never go out to Akihabara just for this but lucky for me there was a Monet exhibit going on out there and so it gave me an opportunity to stop by for lunch on a weekday. I read about the long queue and the wait but when I arrived there were only about 6 people ahead of me so I was fortunate that I only waited maybe 15 min. You order at the counter and the staff will bring the food to the table. Sandwich was 990 yen and I paid extra 220 yen for a set menu with drinks. The egg sandwich was a boiled egg split into two and tucked inside egg salad so beware if you have cholesterol problem! It also came with side of fries so that was a LOT of food on its own! I love eating eggs in Japan since the color of yolk is so orange! Even though I was full I had to get the Purin to complete the visit! Swooned over the flan like density. If you are in Akihabara...
Read moreI stopped by here one morning to get some work done over breakfast. This was a solid stop to work a bit at - wifi is available and almost all seats have two outlets. There is a time limit during busy periods, but that’s to be expected with the cafe’s popularity. As for the food, I ordered the Eggs, Bacon, and Toast breakfast, which came served on a plate of french fries. The eggs were nicely cooked - served runny - and I enjoyed my toast and bacon as well. The fries were a bit cold, and I questioned why they were there in the first place. It also came with a small salad, which was nice to have on the side. Additionally, I got the pudding for dessert, which had a typical flavor to it. The ordering process was a bit difficult, and I think wait times to order could be lessened if there was a visible food menu before customers reached the counter.
Overall, it was a solid meal, and a fine stop to do some morning work before heading out...
