Interesting temple. It was originally built in 1588 in Marunouchi. It changed location several times after being finally established in its current location in 1657. There are some sculptures of kappa, a Japanese yōkai that looks like a mix of a turtle and a frog. It allegedly has the arm of a kappa inside the temple. You can actually check it. Cute, but don't go out of your way. If you are checking out Kappabashi Kitchen "street" (more of an area and you'll notice "kappa" in the name) this temple based on these creatures is adorable and worth the small detour. Lots of water features and statues with cucumbers their favorite food. It's the mascot for this area. We were unable to go inside but also didn't...

Cute kappa buddhist temple. The temple itself is closed only open to reservations in advance. Definitely a cute place to look around if you are in the kappabashi area I want to get away from all the hordes of people...

La historia mola, y no lo tienen explotado para turistas, por ello lo mantienen de forma original. Se dice que los kappa tienen forma casi humana, son del tamaño de un niño pequeño, su cara recuerda a la de las tortugas y sus extremidades y piel son similares a las de las ranas. En ocasiones pueden aparecer representados también con un caparazón de tortuga, aunque algo más pequeño. Por ello es por lo que, tal vez, el nombre de kappa derive de la palabra “capa” introducida por los portugueses. Lo que caracteriza a estos seres es el plato que tienen sobre su cabeza, que se encuentra lleno de agua (puesto que, de no ser así, perderían sus poderes y acabarían muriendo).
