Walked past this cafe 2x and each time there was a long queue so I did not try to enter. Now on the third pass it is empty. This is a little cafe with an expert barista (the numerous awards are testimony). After your order your coffee you get to choose the beans as well. Among the four of us we had an Americano with Kenyan beans, fruity sweet. A Latte with the Kenyan beans, the milk made the latte very rounded and sweet, no hint of bitterness, my wife usually has some sugar but enjoyed this on without. A pour over coffee with Ethiopian beans, I am not a fan of pour overs but this one was beautiful, no sourness. And finally a Piccolo made from Brazilian beans, a great strong roast with chocolate flavours. I also tasted their canelé which was beautiful moist on the inside and a nice caramilized skin. The place is tiny, so you drink and enjoy your coffee and leave, it is not meant as an hangout place, go somewhere else for this, but if you are in for an excellent coffee, spend 15min here!!! Highly...
Read moreAfter having tried again to visit this cafe near my home, where for some reason although saying it is open at 9am never really seems to be until an hour and a half, I finally had the 'opportunity to go there (at the end of the day this time). Proudly displaying the fame of its baristas on its frontage, the simple wooden empty cafe front door opens onto an interior of raw concrete left for aesthetics reasons has everything to attract a clientele in search of the perfect coffee. But, if the first impressions are rather positive (oatmilk on the front of the counter, a large-scale espresso machine and a design close to Berlin cafes at the end of the afternoon) we are quickly disappointed by the noisy environment (an American radio (?) where hits music play on repeat,) a non existent wifi and above all a passable or even not good coffee (although with a neat latte art).
How can you boast that you are one of the best cafes in town and yet have such poor coffee bean...
Read moreI went to this coffee shop after seeing photos of unique animal shaped latte art in the reviews as well as reading that the owner won awards for his latte art. However, he was not there when we went, and after asking the worker who was there if he could do latte art and him saying it was included, my latte came out with a basic heart. The latte tasted good, although note it does not come sweetened. You could probably ask for it to be sweetened when you order. When we got to the order counter where the menu was, we were not ready and offered to let the woman behind us go first. The worker told us to please order quickly, so we rushed to order instead. She was the only person behind us, so it is not as though there was a long line. Overall, I was unsatisfied with the service, but the coffee was good. Just be aware if your main purpose for coming is the cool latte art, that this is not available...
