Overall experience was just over 2 hours without stopping for cafes. Of that time, at least 90% is spent waiting in line. Let me summarize what you can expect in your experience without exaggerating. Upon arriving you will wait to queue to convert your advance digital ticket to a paper ticket, then you’ll wait to go up to 350m floor, you’ll wait to go to 445m floor, you’ll wait to go down to 345m, you’ll wait to see thru the glass floor, and finally you’ll wait to take the elevator down to 5f. Theres plenty of restrooms and the views are great. But despite how awesome the views are I consider the experience to be very negative. I was relieved when I was finally done queuing in lines. SkyTree observation puts caps on how many tickets they sell. But to be honest, whatever their limit is, its likely not able to be any bigger if they wanted since they sell tickets in 30m windows and it took us 30 minutes from arriving to getting on the elevator to 350m floor. It’s evident they are operating with way too many people per time slot. If you chose to go you will enjoy the view but set your expectations for how unpleasant the overall...

Staff could not speak English. Normally that's fine in Japan but I feel it should be something they should be trained on considering that it's a tourist attraction. We spent most of the time trying to communicate what happened to them while the dangerous men got away. They could have done the same to other people.
TLDR: Security is lacking and staff have trouble accommodating for English speakers even though it's a...
Read moreDon't bother with the higher observation deck ticket in inclement weather, your view will completely be blocked by clouds and ticket office was closed off during our visit. Unfortunately after 4pm it was raining and thick cloud cover on both decks. What you could see at night was ruined by interior light reflections.
Would not recommend buying tickets in advance if weather is a risk. We booked 3.30pm session online 2 days before and had to exchange to paper tickets, go through bag check and security, then elevator queue. This only took about 10 minutes, though others have complained of wait time.
There are lots of amenities on the tembo deck...
