TLDR: get here early, ask for the menu and ask the staff to help take a picture with the entrance sculpture when you’re in. you can shop while the food is being made. check the condition of the souvenir immediately when they arrive.
I actually got here early, and the waitress said I can enter at 14:00, when my reservation time is 14:10. Only when I got in did the waitress notify me of the 1:30 time limit and didn’t even offer to help me take a photo at the entrance sculpture.
Everything is very expensive here, and you can only order once, so I took a while before I finally ordered. for many reasons dining here feels like someone sticking an iron at the back of my head, very stressful. They could’ve reminded the guest the time limited and provide a menu the waiting outside, they’ve done none of this.
The beef in the spicy curry was really dry, I’m not sure how it happened. The car cake was really dry in the middle, maybe adding more strawberry jam between the cakes would make it taste less dry.
Toward the end, a waitress came up and told me i couldn’t eat outside food including a banana, I explain with google translate app that banana prevents cramps, but google translate as stomach ache? I immediately gesture to my legs to indicate leg cramps. Seeing this she says she’ll allow it this time but never again and hope I have some pills. Lady, I’m not going to have electrolytes drinks everyday when a simpler solution exist.
If you ordered any of the dishes that includes a souvenir, check the item IMMEDIATELY, waitress don’t open and show item’s condition like at nintendo store, had I done that, honestly I couldn’t cause I’m busy eating on a time limit, I wouldn’t end up with a misprinted piece.
I’ve told my complaints to a staff at the store next to the café, while I was there I learned from a guest that one can shop at the store while the foods are being made, non of the staff told me this. I hope they can improve because despite all of it, Kirby Café was just too darn cute.

Read moreKirby cafe isn’t one of those places that you accidentally stumble upon, you must deliberately seek out this place with the intention of basking in all of what it offers. In fact, this place is notorious for having impossibly hard reservations; opening up for one day out of the month for the entire month’s worth of reservation and being fully booked within minutes.
As all themed cafes, you don’t really come here for the taste or to be filled. You come here for the atmosphere. The inside layout is adorable, every item you order has amazing intricate details- you almost feel bad for eating it and destroying the art piece. The service is amazing. Although they don’t speak English, they have systems to communicate with you as best as possible. We made a mistake because of a language barrier and got two of the same items. They apologized profusely and didn’t charge us for the second copy. They will, however attempt to upsell you on order exclusive items (which are really hard to turn down because of how enticing they are).
Again, you don’t have to be, but it helps to be a Kirby fan or a lover of cute stuff to enjoy this place. The taste is average at best and it didn’t really fill me or my two other friends.
After eating, it connects right to the gift shop where you can find hundreds of Kirby cafe exclusive items. I ended up spending close to $150 CAD here.
Overall, I would say this is a bucket list place if you’re visiting and love Kirby, but that’s about all. It’s a place to visit just to say you’ve visited, but I wouldn’t visit again considering the difficulty of getting a reservation again in the first place. The gift shop can be visited even if you don’t eat there, so don’t worry about having to buy everything...
Read moreA cute cafe for Kirby lovers. The cafe is reservation only. I was able to get a same-day reservation by checking the website early in the morning. Many people cancel late at night or early in the morning, so a few time slots became available that previously weren’t the day before. Please keep checking the website if you want a reservation as times might open up!
There was a rumor (or meme?) going around on Western Twitter before that “If you dine alone at the Kirby Cafe, they’ll seat you with a Waddle Dee.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t true in my experience and after Googling around in Japanese I couldn’t find any proof for it, so it might be a rumor or photo that got misinterpreted. I was seated alone in the corner of the cafe. It couldn’t be helped due to the number of guests and most (if not all) guests dining in groups. Still, it was a little lonely. If it’s possible for you, I recommend going as a group.
The food was absolutely adorable, just like the pictures. The Kirby Burger meal set was pretty tasty. I inhaled it just like Kirby. The Kirby car cake was huge!!! The staff member did warn us about this, but I really wanted to see it and try it so I ordered it anyway. I should have listened to her!!! Most of the items in this cafe come in small portions but the car cake does not! I also didn’t like the taste too much, it was a little dry. Trying to eat the whole thing was a challenge!
The cafe’s menu is in English but I don’t think any staff members speak English, so you might want to brush up on your Japanese before going or be prepared to bust out...
