The one and only Synagogue of the Bene Israeli Jewish community in the Ahmedabad and the entire state of Gujarat.

It is built in the Art deco style with marble chequered floors and a large ark, using the Indo-Judaica architectural form having Grecian pillars with a triangular roof and high ceiling.The women's balcony is unusual (as compared to other synagogues in India) in that it is not supported by pillars.

Entry to the synagogue is difficult if you are not a Jew but, not impossible....

Magen Abraham Synagogue is the only Jewish Synagogue of Gujarat. A Hidden Gem in Ahmedabad

Visited the Magen Abraham Synagogue, and it was a truly unique experience. The highlight was Johnny Bhai, who voluntarily guides visitors with so much passion and knowledge. He takes the time to explain everything and makes the visit really meaningful.

For security, he asks for an Aadhaar copy, which is understandable. Huge respect for what he’s doing for his community—his dedication is inspiring. If you’re in Ahmedabad, definitely visit!
