If you’re into history then it’s a no-brainer to visit this spot, where it is the site of Miri’s first drilled oil well. And nearby you can head to the Petroleum Museum (check the reviews though before deciding) or go around the museum building to the lookout point giving you a fantastic view of Miri! There is a restaurant nearby but it was closed when I was there. Hopefully, this area can be brought up better and maintained as it’s a great potential for tourism and education.

During our last trip to Miri, Michelle and I were often recommended to visit Canada Hill, a limestone ridge with an amazing view of Miri City. Directly being in sight, overlooking our window from Pullman Miri Waterfront, one could hike up Canada Hill, or take a Grab up.

A proper site for food and drinks stalls, currently makeshift tents, unhygienic and without proper drainage, etc. Permanent site for public toilets and resting areas for enthusiastic joggers or cross training athletes, etc. More prohibition sign boards to ensure cleanliness of the site, especially rubbish bins, additional and improved the seating design, lastly, to engage safety and security personnel to be on site to monitor the public safety...
