Coco House — Hotel in Borneo

Price is very reasonable for what you get :). Location is good -- plenty of space to park if you're driving and close to the city center. Breakfast is included and cooked to order. Our room was air-conditioned, clean and comfortable (the only thing missing was hot water for showering, but the cold water wasn't too bad). The room walls were a bit thin, so it got a little noisy in the mornings when the divers woke up and dragged stuff down for their dives. Friendly, polite and helpful staff! We accidentally dropped our room key near the gate, and they held on to it for us. The supervisor, Irman, gave us lots of info on the different beaches at Miri, and told us to check out this spot that was off the beaten path, and we caught the best sunset of our trip there. :) I will definitely consider staying here again (especially since I'd like to dive in my next...

We stopped in Miri and booked this place as we wanted to be able to dive conveniently during our short stop. Not worth the money you pay. Also, the response and organization was horrible as we emailed several times and received no response. ||We had a room on the first floor. Place was reminiscent of a bad college dorm room experience. Soggy sheets, ratty towels, and dirty floors. Toilet was leaking and shower was cold. ||Noise level was out of control as there is a bar blasting music on the bottom floor. ||They advertise free breakfast but this is only a self service cereal bar (with 1 choice of cereal). I stayed in Co.co house for one night just for the purpose of diving as their dive shop is just next to it. ||I put up a night in their very affordable rm30 8 bedded unisex dorm. The room was clean with air-conditioning. The sheets and pillow smells fresh from the laundry and sleep quality on the mattress was fine. The pillow was too soft for my liking. A bedside locket was provided.||Breakfast was suppose to be served from 7am onwards but during my stay the person who was incharged to bring the breakfast hasn't turn up yet.
