I dun recommend this place.
I really will point out these things that I think it should improve.
Hard boil eggs. Break open your eggs. I already paid for a service fee. At least crack open the eggs dun needlessly trouble where I have to break open the eggs myself and mess up my hands. When it's mark less sweet, make it less sweet. Order one yingyang, one coffee. Both instructions are not followed. Also making your drinks lukewarm is just a turn off. Additional note: upon telling them to change with no sugar, they come back without again, with sugar. Took them three tries and some complain to get it right. Despite pricing and marketing yourself as a upper level koptitiam, you have to get your own utensil and tissue. Don't quite understand why are you charging a service fee and we have to fetch the damn thing ourself. Appreciate if your staff notify beforehand.
I have also ordered bread and kolo mee. No complains here.
But the experience of dining left a lot to be desired. I am here to eat my breakfast in peace, not to be tick off. Breakfast is breakfast, it's not something you need to raise a temper about. But when this establishment don't take their customers seriously, ignore their request, seeking to maximised profits and dun give a damn about request, I just can't to write a complain.
Most of the time when pt 1 and pt 3 happens, I merely write them off with a mere inconvenience. But when your instructions are ignore, even twice. This tick me off.
I drove here purposely for once I tried their yin-yang once and I thought this morning I will have my breakfast here. But after this I will not return. This establishment seek to maximised profit, and customer instruction are not followed. Dun see the point when I pay for a service when it totally annoyed the shit out of me. I get it, it's not Hilton I'm dining here. So perhaps it's unfair for me to expect a proper service here.
I dun blame the workers, more towards the management when your too cheap to hired more hands.
Added: I now label this establishment also dishonest. Most of the time I pay my bills without looking. But today I take a look my bills and they charge my a small charge "warm water" when I did not order it.
Patronage of this restaurant beware, always check your bills. They will sneak in a small charge and hopefully...
Read moreFeedback for Dozo Miri – Food Quality and Kitchen Staffing
Firstly, I’d like to commend Dozo Miri for the delicious food – overall, the taste and presentation are enjoyable and well-prepared. However, I’ve noticed some inconsistency in the flavor and quality of certain dishes, which may be due to different chefs preparing them at different times.
To maintain a consistent high standard, I would suggest the following:
Hire Additional Qualified Kitchen Staff: It seems that the current kitchen crew might be under pressure, which could affect both the mental and physical well-being of the chefs. Bringing in more experienced kitchen staff or assistants could help share the workload and maintain quality.
Ensure All Chefs Meet a Consistent Standard: While it’s great that different chefs bring their own skills, it's important that all chefs meet a baseline quality. I recommend hiring chefs with solid culinary backgrounds and ensuring regular quality checks or internal training so that every dish reflects the same high standard.
Avoid Over-Reliance on One Chef: Relying too much on one head chef may cause burnout and inconsistency when others step in. Distributing responsibilities and recognizing the unique strengths of each team member can lead to better teamwork, morale, and consistent food quality.
Lastly, I hope the management can take prompt action on this matter to ensure an even better dining experience for all...

Depends on what you’re looking for, your ratings can be very different Vibes and environment- check Cleanliness - check Seating & serving speed - check Food and drinks? Hold my beer We ordered wat dan hor, Ayam berempah noodles, polo bun, kaya butter bread, hainan Kopi and tea. Sadly I would say that this could my first and final order from this shop. Presentation is decent but portionwise it’s akin to a joke, half of the noodles would suffice as a boat noodle. I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for in their noodles because there’s really nothing to look for, no flavour to write home about. Ayam rempah is more bone than meat or spice, a few munches was all it offered, and the picture(from the menu despite being for illustration purpose) is downright illegal The hainan coffee was alright but it could be a little thicker to be more competitive amongst the hainan coffee connoisseurs we have in Miri(go figure) Hainan tea was more water than tea and milk. Would I go as far to call it tea flavoured water? Yes. Final verdict, first time and last time I’m reviewing this, I’ll be waiting for old town’s debut in Miri and I feel DOZO will be risking much should this...
