There is a museum on top of the hill. It is all about the history of the oil. It is interesting to be located at this place. I was quite surprised when I entered this building. It is because the entry fee was free; yes, you heard me. The entry fee is free. I thought the security guard would hold us, but they are just doing their own business. I am just walking in here and looking around. Whoa, I mean, this place is all about how to get petroleum, who the founder is, and what items are made out of oil. It is really interesting. The knowledge will become more concrete for those who are still studying and also for those who are interested in it. The stuff that I like the most is the model of the Petrol sea station. It is huge and gorgeous. I keep thinking about what will happen when the model falls off, but that answer will be forever unknown. This museum is quite lonely to me. It is because there are not too many people around. I was the only person walking around in here at that time. I love this museum so much. I definitely will visit again in the future.

I normally try to avoid giving bad remark. So I just being gentle on this. I don't think the management is poor or short of fund to maintain the museum. All the photos, wallpaper, infographic board has never been updated back in 90s maybe. The fill map with color legend cannot be recognized anymore. All the video cannot be played, children game mechanic has been long spoiled. Technology displayed is way outdated. Come on, when I get out of the museum, a west malaysian tourist ask me is it open? I feel reluctant to let him in because it is a shame to sarawakian to call this petroleum museum. Please. .... If you see this review, please invest in renovating instead of making it an embarrassing location for sarawakian and petroleum industry.

Miri is widely recognized as one of Malaysia’s prominent Oil & Gas cities. With such a rich industrial heritage, I truly hope the relevant authorities will consider refurbishing and properly maintaining this museum (no admission tickets required). Updating the exhibits with current and accurate information about the industry would greatly enhance the experience. The museum has the potential to be an excellent educational hub and tourist attraction where visitors can discover fascinating insights into the history and development of the oil and gas sector. With a bit of revitalization, it could serve as a more engaging and informative destination for both locals and tourists alike.
