Overall: Great little cafe and a solid place to have breakfast. A few important details hold it back from a top spot... Food: A mash of millennial inspired breakfast options from a full-English, to smashed avocado on wholemeal toast. They have a few things that are difficult to find elsewhere: half decent bacon and a pork sausage, bratwurst style. Veggie friendly: Yes, they have stand-alone veggie options as well as a 'build your own' menu. Price: Quite expensive. Breakfast for 2 with some coffee can cost 80-90RM. Price is usually pumped up by pork and avocado, so cheaper options can be had, but its still on the high end for breakfast. Service: Order at the counter, deliver to the table. Usually served quickly. Atmosphere: It has the classic 2020's Penang style: Rattan chairs, packing crate tables, brick walls half plastered, 'heritage' window shutters, a load of half dead plants, exposed wiring, concrete floor, humidity damage... I find it a bit dark inside as and some of the rooms lack a bit of natural light. Out back sit next to the toilets... interior is due an upgrade especially as some of the dead plants have been there since pre pandemic. Sort out the floor and the toilets, open up some windows, and get some light into the place! Location: Near the Chinese temple on Penang road. Amenities: There are toilets at the back. They're clean. The plastic door/tin roof arrangement doesn't quite match the price you're paying. Needs and upgrade. Must try: The missus loves the Chai Latte. The toast 3 ways is...
Read moreI was actually just walking along the street in my quest for a hearty brunch, with a craving for toasts and eggs, which I seem to not find in the Indian cafés in the area. Seeing the interior ambience from the street invited me to come in, and I knew right away that this is the answer to my craving. The service crew immediately flashed their smiles as I came in, and from then I knew this will be a good brunch for me! The lady who took my order was radiating with warmth, I felt very welcome.
I got an iced caramel latte (14MYR) and a full plate of toasts, eggs, sausages, plus coleslaw and baked beans (16.50MYR). I am indeed satisfied with my brunch! There's plenty of sumptuous items on the menu, but my stomach cannot afford more than what I got. I don't think there's room for a sweet dessert, until I, maybe, walked for a couple of kilometres.
Ambience is very relaxing, taking it from it's old-world-ish charm of exposed brick walls, marble floors, high ceilings, natural light flowing in, cool air-conditioning (feels like ~35°C outside), wooden furniture, and the greens incorporated within. I must give commendation to the house music, as well—very fitting with everything around. All these, spells the word CHILLAX. Definitely a must-visit spot when in this...

The bottom was full so we have to get a table in the second floor. Even the look of it was a little bit abandoned and very isolated, we got the table looking towards the Chinese Temble and the street which was nice.
We ordered: 1 Hot Chocolate 12.00 1 Avocado Toast 3 Ways 19.50
Total 31.50
The toasts they served were 1 avocado, 1 salmon and 1 omelet and bacon.
For Jona the best one was the avocado and he really loved the omelet. For me I think all of them were good but the bread was a little bit too soft to serve as a toast and the omelet was very soft so it was hard to eat.
I really enjoyed the bacon on the egg tho, the small coleslaw salad they served and the taste of the salmon. Loved the look of the avocado toast and the taste was fine. The chocolate was really...
