This indoor playground experience was truly disappointing and frustrating. When I purchased the tickets, I encountered an unexpected issue with the pricing. The pricing structure indicated that children under 2 years old were charged RM20, while kids aged 2 and above were charged RM48. My child was about to turn 2 in October, so I inquired about the tickets. To my surprise, I was told that they determine a child's age based on the year, not the exact birthdate. This policy was unlike any other indoor playground I've visited. It seems pointless to have a separate price for under 2 years old if they're going to base it on the year. Implementing a straightforward infant category would be much more practical and save everyone a lot of hassle.
Moreover, the staff seemed overly focused on maintaining the cleanliness and order of the playground. While cleanliness is important, their approach was excessive. I witnessed instances where staff members would take toys away from children, even during an ongoing play session, just because the toy was moved out of a designated area. An example of this was the plush toys with numbers and alphabets. If a child happened to take one of these toys beyond a certain boundary, the staff would promptly snatch it away, disregarding the child's desire to continue playing with it. This strict enforcement felt unreasonable, especially given that we had entered the playground well before closing time at around 4 pm, and the facility would remain open until 10 pm. The excessive vigilance seemed unnecessary and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the playground.
Furthermore, the playground featured imaginative play areas like fireman and doctor stations. However, even in these areas, the same rigid policies were applied. If a child chose to wear a costume and play in a different section, the staff would confiscate the costume and store it outside the play area. This level of strictness felt unwarranted and diminished the creative freedom that such play areas are meant to encourage.
Overall, this indoor playground experience ranks as the worst I've encountered. It's unclear what the management's rationale is behind these policies, as they appear to hinder rather than enhance the enjoyment of both children and parents. It's disheartening to see such potential for fun and imagination stifled by overly rigid rules and unnecessary...
Read moreI recently visited Funtopia at KSL Mall with my children, and I must say, my experience was quite disappointing. I've been to this indoor playground multiple times, but this was the first time I encountered an issue with time overruns.
When I purchased our tickets, I was not informed about the additional charges for exceeding the allotted time. To my shock, I was charged RM 1 per minute for each child, resulting in a total of RM 60 for just two kids! I believe the initial cost was around RM 45 or RM 48 per kids for three hours, which makes the additional charges feel excessive, unfair and means a lot like a punishment. The Feeling is really terrible and bad. There was nothing much the staff can do, the only things which they could do is to ask me who are the staff who service me during the purchased. That is meaningless to me. How could I remember so clearly? Why don’t you just see your CCTV?
I typically don’t leave reviews, as I prefer to show my appreciation through repeat visits. However, this experience felt more like a punishment than a reasonable policy. It’s disheartening to see such high charges, especially when there are many other options available. I hope Funtopia reconsiders their pricing strategy, as it seems they may be taking their customers for granted and also train their staff to be more professional when dealing...
Read moreRather new place and a big area to venture. There's ball pit, sand pit, trampolines.. There's sections for small children to play dress up, small and big slides, construction site etc.. Rates vary for below 2yo or above, & between weekday & weekend. Price chart as shared for 1 child with 1 parent FOC entry. Optional for parents to choose to enter or sit out beside entrance. Enter by scanning QR code on wrist tag, multiple entries and exits allowed for toilet breaks etc. No restrictions on socks.
Something to note, the sand pit area has only 1 doorway, appears to be quite stuffy and hot after staying inside for a while.. Overall kiddo quite entertained and enjoys playing with other kids. There's 2 staffs always going around tidying up, who will also stop kids from climbing too high or too rowdy. Plus point, can ask for...
