Don’t be fooled by the fancy exterior and pretty menu because this restaurant completely ruined japanese food for me.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we already felt something was off — the air was stale and stuffy, and the ambience was dead. Everything from the tables, chairs and ordering tablet was grimy. The only sounds were the murmuring of other customers and the squeaking from the old sushi conveyer belt(?). However, we proceeded to order as we were starving and there were little options in KSL. Big mistake.
The rice used for the sushi was mushy and way too sticky, the tamago tasted funny and worse of all, the salmon hana had the saddest and smallest portions we have ever seen. The salmon also tasted like it been left out in the open for days. Instant udon from convenience stores also tastes infinitely better than the udon we were served.
On top of that, when I asked the staff what sauce it was on our table, she just glared at us and brought us another unnamed sauce with no explanation. Both sauces tasted weird, it was unlike any sauces we’ve had in other sushi restaurants. Felt bad for the service staff though, as it felt like a one man army.
We wished we would have seen the reviews of this place before placing our order. You literally could pay me to eat here and I would decline. This restaurant has set a new low for me. It fails spectacularly in every area and I would not wish for anyone else to experience this.
If you are hungry at KSL, literally eat anywhere else. Even Family Mart would be a better and more...
Read moreThis location just gets worse and worse, if you came here in 2017 you'd get actual good quality food.
Nowadays the food is either not fresh or undercooked, sometimes even contaminated. One time we found worms and even larvae inside the edamames, there seems to also be a cockroach problem in their kitchen. I ordered the beef teppanyaki and it comes with a stove. It wasn't until later while "enjoying" the meal that I spotted about two to three small cockroaches inside of the gas compartment, the helpful staff offered to cut it from my bill so at least there's that. Beware of what you eat here.
Another issue is that the restaurant is heavily understaffed, I counted about 4 or 5 staff working here. The number of kitchen staff is only around 2, one time they called the cook out to inspect the order and it was just some old lady. Although the service staff is always trying their best, they still struggle without the help of a supervisor.
All in all, if you want a good sushi king experience then don't eat here. It's a sinking ship and you'd best eat at another chain, your guts and overall health will thank you.
(also the cutleries are usually not cleaned very well so it'd do you real good if you cleaned it with tissue...
Read morecame in, staff were super unfriendly didnt seem to be keen on doing anything at all. sat down wasnt given any introduction to the menu, tablet to order was off and no staff was around to assist. had to get up from my table and find someone to assist only to be met with an unfriendly and uninterested face. first taste of the sushi was met with rice close to being spoilt. prices were absurd for the quality and environment. flies were seen in an air conditioned mall. waiting time for food was extremely long for a shop that was barely half full. ordered a curry chicken katsu rice set, curry wasnt even japanese curry. got indian curry instead. vegetables werent fresh at all. also had a salmon sashimi plate, salmon cuts were uneven, one piece was even cut wrongly and was dangling off pieces. my partner ordered the salmon belly with rice, salmon was super fishy tasted disgusting. i wouldnt say a single dish in this place was nice. only edible at most and even that is questionable as some of the food i had was close to being spoilt....
