Guava Appetizer Dish = RM5.00 鸭血 Duck Blood Jelly = RM6.90
特级牛肉/羊肉 & 夹心肉套餐 Beef/Pork Combo = RM41.80 Consisted of: Beef/Pork Combo (RM35.90) Arashi Milk (+RM5.90) Rice Vermicelli (+RM0.00)
SST Tax = RM3.22 Service Charge = RM5.37 Grand Total = RM62.30
The Interior looks Posh with Atas Furnishings. Nicely Air-Conditioned and Cleanly Maintained.
Most of the Staffs are Myanmmar Folks. They're Friendly and keep to themselves. While they are prompt and efficient, do not expect HDL Level of Customer Service. The Level here is Expected, not Exceptional.
Appetizer and Wet Towel are Chargeable Items
There are many complaints in Google Reviews that the Appetizer and Wet Towels are not free of charge. Isn't it expected that such things are usually Chargeable items in a Restaurant? So funny, these Google Reviewers first time eat in a Restaurant?
Appetizer is 15 Small Pieces of Cut Guava Cubes with some bits of Carrot Strips and sprinkled with Plum Powder 酸梅粉. This is a Sweet Appetizer, Quite Refreshing. Not Cheap at RM5.00 (S$1.60) but I didn't mind it because it worked well as a Palette Cleanser.
Condiments are an Important Component in a Hotpot and thankfully these are Free of Charge. Feel free to help yourself. I like that the Condiment Section is cleanly maintained. There are 6 Types of Sauces and 2 Garnishings.
Ordering of Food is thru an Ipad Tablet on your Table. It took 2 Mins for them to Set Up my Shabu Hotpot and 5 Mins for the Plate of Duck Blood Jelly to be served. Everything took a Total of 5 Mins.
鸭血 Duck Blood Jelly = RM6.90
Of course this is not available in Singapore. Served in 6 Relatively Large Cubes. I popped one raw into my mouth and thought it tasted Sweetish. Not Stinky or Gamey and tasted Clean. Not Too Firm, Not Too Soft and was Just Nice. When its Cooked in the Soup Broth, I felt it lost abit of its Initial Sweetness but it was still alright.
特级牛肉/羊肉 & 夹心肉套餐 Beef/Pork Combo = RM41.80
This is a Hotpot Set meant for a Solo Diner. Just like a Regular Hotpot, you can have 1 Soup Broth of your Choice. I chose "Arashi Milk" (+RM5.90)
Arashi Milk Soup Broth
The Soup Broth can be topped up Unlimited Times. I think its a Chicken / Mushroom Broth with a Layer of Milkiness. Doesn't taste like its from a Cheap Pre-Packaged Soup Mix or from a Can.
This Soup got some Standard. I liked that the Milkiness is Not Overly Milky and throughout the Meal, I never found it to taste Overly Jelak. Nicely Savoury, Not Spicy and Not Overly Salty.
The Whole Platter was Beautifully Plated and Presented.
3 Rolls each of Pork and Beef Shabu were not alot but I felt was still Acceptable for the Price. Both Pork and Beef tasted Fresh and Clean with No Stinkiness.
福袋 Tofu Bao had Minced Pork within and tasted Nice in soaking up that Savoury Milky Broth. The Meatball is Fuzhou-Styled (Meatball within a Meatball) and tasted Good.
The Fishball has a Distinctive "Teardrop" Shape. Within is also another Fishball in a Bright Yellow Colour. Very Bouncy Bitefeel. Taste alright.
Amount of the Filler Ingredients such as the Vegetables or Mushrooms were acceptable and it was a Filling Meal.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM62.30 (S$19.00), this is about the Price of a Regular Non-HDL Hotpot Price in Singapore? In fact, I feel this is agar agar pretty close to the Price for Shi Li Fang 食立方 Hotpot? I can't remember. Service Quality standard is also about the same more or less.
I have no complaints about this place. The Environment was Beautifully Furnished, Well Maintained and Service was Acceptable. Amount of Meat on the Main Platter may feel small at only 6 pieces, but I still felt this was a Very Filling Meal. The Arashi Milk Broth had some Quality to it and was Enjoyable to Drink.
If you have Normal Expectations for this place and not expect it to be like a HDL, I feel this is a Reasonable Place to enjoy a Nice Hotpot after a Day of Shopping.

Read moreThe dining experience at this place left a lasting impression on me. With its wide range of food selection and exceptional quality, I couldn't help but be impressed. We decided to try the set menu, which included three different types of soup, along with a few a la carte items. The ribeye beef and the black pork were particularly delightful, with their succulent and tender texture. Although slightly pricey, they were definitely worth every penny.
One thing that stood out to me was the efficiency of the service. We placed our orders using a tablet, and the items were served in less than 10 minutes. This quick turnaround time ensured that we didn't have to wait long, and we could enjoy our meal without any unnecessary delays.
Not only was the taste of the food exceptional, but the presentation and plating were also aesthetically pleasing. Each dish was carefully arranged, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. It added an extra touch of sophistication to the overall dining experience.
The ambiance of the place was another highlight. The spaciousness of the restaurant, coupled with its tasteful decorations, created a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a comfortable and enjoyable meal.
The only downside was the price. As a group of three adults and one child, our bill amounted to 400 plus MYR. While the quality of the food and the overall experience were worth it, it did put a strain on our wallets. However, if you're willing to splurge a bit for a memorable dining experience, this place is definitely worth considering.
In conclusion, the food selection and quality at this place are top-notch. The efficiency of the service, along with the impeccable plating and presentation, adds to the overall dining experience. Despite the higher price range, the experience is well worth it for those seeking a memorable...
Read moreVisited on a Friday early evening at 530pm and could just walk in with no wait for our party of 4 adults and 2 kids. Arashi is renowned mid range eatery that serves up individual hotpot with multiple branches within Malaysia. Their City Square and Souhtkey mid valley Jb branches often have some wait time so we were certainly delighted the Ksl branch was spacious and we were seated immediately. They've ala carte ingredients that could be selected and matched with one of the many broth base like spicy milk, Tom yam, herbal chicken, Japan kombu clear soup, kimchi soup, porridge etc. They do also have set meal with 1 soup option for the individual hotpot served with assorted veg, mushroom, and meat/seafood. All soups are refillable! For non Hotpot lovers the eatery do also offers rice option as well as kids meal. We've always found their various ingredients like beef short rib, black pork collar slices, salmon and even chawanmushi and their wide drinks selection to be fresh and all well executed. Average spending per pax ard RM70 for such fresh ingredients, well flavoured broth and certainly stomach fulfilling meal every single time we visited since 10 years ago.
