烧味三拼 Roasted Combination Platter (Small) = RM46.00 Service Charge 10% = RM4.60 SST Tax 6% = RM2.76 Grand Total = RM53.35
This Roasted Franchise can be seen all over JB, and the one i'm visiting is at KSL City Mall. According to JohorKaki, the Owner used to be an Apprentice at the Famous Ya Wang during his Teens and opened his First Shop in Johor Jaya in 2003.
The Outlet in KSL City Mall is Beautifully Furnished as a Chinese Restaurant. Not as crowded as D' Shanghai next door but still got quite a few people on a Weekday. For some reason, this place also didn't have its Aircon working, so it was also Hot and Stuffy. (Maybe the Centralized Aircon in KSL was spoilt that day?)
The Staffs were Polite and Professional.
I was Immediately Impressed by how Beautiful the Presentation Looks! The Duck-Shaped Porcelain Dish looks so Elegant! Meat portion when compared to You Kee's Platter felt much more Generous and Beautifully Appetizing! This here, is a High Class Restaurant Standard Presentation and Plating.
The first thing I noticed is that the Danggui Taste of the Sauce is very Strong. Strongly Herbly and Sharply Salty, this is an Amazing Sauce itself to lum all over the Meats. The Sauce is really the Soul of the Platter and provides a Good Foundation to support the Meats. I also like that they give some Braised Peanuts here too. Soft and Mushy, their main job is to help relieve abit of Flavour Fatigue from too much Meat.
The Chilli is Sharply Salty and Sourish. First taste of it assaults your Nostrils, then the Spiciness slowly creeps in from the back of your tongue. This is and Excellent Chilli for Roasted Meats.
烧鸭 Roasted Duck Compared to You Kee, the Roast Duck here is definitely on a Much Higher Level. Meat doesn't taste Gamey. While I didn't like that it is mostly Boney and not as much Meat, the Meat it does have is Fat and Juicy. This is a Good Restaurant Quality Duck. At least it lives up to its Signboard.
烧肉 Roast Pork (Sio Bak) This is a Much Better Quality Sio Bak compared to You Kee. It is Salty and has a Deep Smokey Taste. Skin is Delightfully Crunchy and Meat is on the Firmer Side and doesn't taste Overly Porky.
叉烧 Char Siew The Char Siew here is Charred Beautifully, Fatty and Not Overly Porky. Sweetness is not Overly Sweet. But it cannot compare to You Kee's MELT IN THE MOUTH "Meat Candy" Char Siew. Don't get me wrong, Meng Meng's Char Siew is a Good Char Siew, but there is absolutely no question that You Kee's Char Siew is on Another Level that Meng Meng cannot reach.
RM53.35 (S$15.35) isn't exactly cheap, and while nothing tastes exceptionally Mind-Blowing here, they are all still Good Restaurant Quality Roasted Meats.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Meng Meng Roasted Duck, and I must say, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. From their delectable roasted meats to their flavorful home-cooked dishes, this restaurant truly impressed me.
Let's start with the star of the show—the roasted meats. Meng Meng's roasted duck is simply outstanding. The meat is succulent and tender, with a crispy skin that is bursting with flavor. Each bite is a heavenly experience, and it's no wonder why this place is famous for its roasted duck.
While the roasted duck is undeniably fantastic, the honey roasted pork stole the show for me. I have a weakness for this dish, and Meng Meng's version exceeded my expectations. The meat is perfectly glazed with a sweet and sticky honey sauce, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. And let me tell you, the fatty part of the roasted pork is a must-order. It literally melts in your mouth, releasing a burst of richness that is simply divine. It's so incredibly tender and juicy that you'll find it hard to resist ordering more.
Speaking of portion sizes, I ordered 0.5kg of the honey roasted pork, and it was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. The sheer quality and deliciousness of the meat make it a filling and satisfying choice. Just a plate of this mouthwatering roasted pork is capable of leaving you feeling content.
Apart from the roasted meats, Meng Meng also offers a wide variety of other dishes, and they are equally impressive. The home-cooked dishes, particularly available during Monday to Friday, showcase the chef's culinary skills and passion for flavorful meals. From stir-fried vegetables to comforting soups, every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. The flavors are authentic, and the ingredients are fresh, resulting in a memorable dining experience.
Overall, I can confidently say that Meng Meng Roasted Duck is a gem of a restaurant. The roasted meats, especially the honey roasted pork, are a carnivore's dream come true. The succulent, tender, and juicy meat paired with the melt-in-your-mouth fatty portions will leave you craving more. The restaurant's dedication to delivering outstanding flavors extends beyond their roasted meats, as their home-cooked dishes are equally remarkable. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to visit Meng Meng Roasted Duck, and prepare yourself for a truly delightful...
Read moreWe visited the outlet at KSL City Mall at 8:36 PM, having made the effort based on a recommendation from our relatives. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Despite the restaurant being only half-filled, my family was allocated to a cramped corner along with other diners, leaving the center of the restaurant empty. The area we were seated in was hot and stuffy.
After being seated by the waitress, no one came to take our order. I had to walk to the front counter to ask for assistance.
Once our order was finally placed, we waited for quite some time (I honestly can't remember the exact duration) and our food still hadn't arrived. Meanwhile, the chefs were busy cleaning up the kitchen.
I got the waitress to check on the status of our order, and she appeared shocked, likely because our order had been forgotten.
Minutes later, our food was served cold and tasted far from freshly cooked. The duck skin was soggy and char siew’s fat was sticky and cold.
The Wi-Fi was extremely disappointing. It was intermittent, making connectivity issues worse. If the Wi-Fi is going to be this unreliable, it would be better to not offer it at all.
It also seemed that the air conditioning had been shut off as it was near closing time, making the place even hotter and stuffier.
Overall, the combination of poor service, unappetizing food, and uncomfortable dining conditions made for a very unsatisfactory visit. I hope management can address these issues to improve the...
