My experience for ICL operation with toric lenses
Staffs and Dr Adrian Chuah were friendly and patience, I was fully guided all the way.
I did the suitability test and my eyes chamber depth were just enough to hit the minimum requirement for ICL operation. After 1 week, I came back for one more round of measurements and gave confirmation on the intention to do the procedure. Half the surgery fee was paid as deposit and the lens were ordered. Since I chose toric lenses, the waiting time was around 6 months before the lenses arrived and I was booked for an operation.
Pre operation, eye drops were administered frequently to dilate my pupils. Left eye was first operated, and the right eye roughly 2 hours later. Operation itself was painless, felt just a little bit of sting (milder than a needle shot) and some pressure when the lens position are being adjusted. Post operation, eye pressure readings were taken multiple times, eye drops and medicine were also administered accordingly.
During the procedure, Dr Adrian was very patient and gave clear instructions as to what to do. I only need to focus on keeping my eye position, and if it is drifted, Dr Adrian would kindly remind me to readjust the position. Staffs also fully guided for pre and post operation procedures.
After operation and a nightās sleep, other than some mild dry eyes syndrome, I was able to see properly again. Recovery period is less...

I visited on Tue 26 Jul 2022. Intention was to consider lasik treatment. Was originally informed to make 3 visits. Eventually, the first two visits could be combined into a single visit. 3rd visit would be the actual eye operation itself, if needed. Workflow on this could have been steamlined. Whatapp replies were relatively prompt, except when I asked to confirm the appointment, which required me to follow up.
Apppointment made at 11am. I arrived about 10.30am. Reception was lukewarm. Took a few seconds to make eye contact. Several staff laughing with each other at the reception, while the rest at the respective test stations were busy with allocated work.
Staff at the respective test stations were patient and friendly. I did not feel hurried or anxious. I wish there were name tags so I could praise each individual staff. A thumbs-up for them!
What I also didn't like was the super long wait. Arrived about 10.30am. Station tests completed about 12pm. Started to dilate my eyes at about 12pm+. Only saw the doctor at 3pm. Lunchtime break could have been incorporated. Best to have brunch before going over.
I was concerned with the astigmatism in my left eye but was told that if I corrected the astigmatism in this eye, it'd lead to presbyopia. I was even told to consider cataract treatment in the years to come. I left, feeling somewhat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was quite disappointed to visit this vision centre as I choose this centre because it has optometrist and I expect to have thorough eye power check up due to power variation by 4 optometrists at eye centre/ optical shop. However, to my surprise, the staff did not use manual procedure to confirm my eye power. Additionally, this was my first time heard that we need to wait 3 hours after eye drop instillation for full dilation. I used to do full eye check up at NUH Singapore, ISEC KL, partial at UMMC, KL and Puteri Specialist hospital, but nil will ask me to wait so long before doctor's check. Initially I heard need 3-4 hrs to complete full check up (should be thorough check up) but to my surprise, the tests are lesser than NUH and longer waiting time than all other places. Besides that, I don't know why BP and blood glucose required for non operative patients. Even my parents with wet/ dry AMD tested at ISEC KL, within 1.5 hrs we can complete the whole consultation - eye drop installation
