I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ombak Kitchen Bangsar, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. The service staff at this restaurant went above and beyond to ensure that our visit was memorable. Upon arrival, we informed them that we were celebrating my son's birthday, and without hesitation, they made impromptu arrangements for a sparkle candle and a heartfelt rendition of the happy birthday song. It was such a thoughtful gesture that instantly put a smile on my boy's face. Now, let's talk about the food. The lobster thermidor was an absolute highlight of lunch. The lobster was cooked just right, and the creamy sauce complemented the tender meat beautifully. The freshness of the seafood shone through, making it a truly delectable treat. We also couldn't resist trying the promotion of 1kg crab with the option of Cajun sauce. And boy, were we glad we did! The combination was simply divine. The Cajun sauce added a burst of flavor to the already succulent crab, creating a harmonious blend of spices that delighted our taste buds. It was an absolute feast for seafood lovers like us. Even the kids had a fantastic meal. They opted for the pasta with meatballs and the fish & chips. The fish in the fish & chips dish was incredibly fresh, with a perfectly crispy batter that added a delightful crunch. The pasta with meatballs was equally satisfying, with the flavorsome meatballs complementing the pasta sauce wonderfully. Throughout our dining experience, the service staff remained attentive and helpful. They made sure that our needs were met promptly and that we felt welcomed and comfortable. Their genuine hospitality added an extra touch to our overall enjoyment. In conclusion, Ombak Kitchen Bangsar exceeded our expectations. The attentive service, the perfectly executed lobster thermidor, the flavorful crab with Cajun sauce, and the delightful kids' meals all contributed to a memorable dining experience.

[got event ah?] 1) Overall - Seafood restaurant, chill environment, air cond seating, offers dine-in and takeaway option, signature dishes are their fresh seafood with cajun sauce, lobster, alaskan king crab, buttermilk sauce and much more from Ombak Kitchen Bangsar 2) The King Emperor Set - comes with lobster, XL mud crab, prawn, scallop, cheese sausage, potato, corn, rice and with their signature rainbow dessert - fresh seafood and it was filing for 2 pax, delicious, flavouful and aromatic, great mix of protein and cabs, potato and corn were soaked with the sauce, it was yum, baked lobster was really nice, tender and juicy meat, rainbow dessert was entertaining as the waitress drew it from scratch, very special and unique 3) Fried Calamari – Lightly battered and fried to golden perfection, the calamari was tender inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. Served with a tangy dipping sauce that balanced the richness nicely. 4) Stir-Fry Vegetables with Garlic – A vibrant mix of fresh vegetables, cooked just enough to retain their crunch. The garlic aroma was fragrant without being overpowering, and the light seasoning allowed the natural sweetness of the vegetables to shine.

If you would like to make a reservation you will have to pay for booking fee. There are variety of sets that you can choose from, on top of the appetiser and main menu. We chose shell out set for 2 pax and added on chilli crabs and salted egg calamari dishes and more rice. They don’t look much but surprisingly very filling and we hardly can finish the whole thing. We picked cajun sauce and medium heat for the shell out and singapore chilli for the crab. Both are really good, have distinct tastes but not so spicy. As for the crabs, there’s not much meat inside the crab shells? But perhaps cause we only took M size crabs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they even help to cracked our crabs with the tools. Bibs and gloves were also provided. As for the desert, they will do the whole presentation on the table in front of you. It was our friend’s birthday, they played birthday song and the all the staff huddled around the table and sang the birthday song. Price wise, affordable and justified for the food, environment and hospitality. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience here for me.

My honest review ( again ) so far..

I went there just recently this month ( March 2025).

The Place.

We went to the Bangsar branch and I'm glad because it was just near the office and my area. The good thing is that the place is close to the other restaurants and mamak, there's a variety of choices that you pencil I you bucket list in case you wanted to try something new on your next food trip adventure. Also, it is easy to book a grab or any other rental car app.

The atmosphere.

The ambiance is nice, not too crowded ( or maybe because it's Ramadan ) but to be honest it's not that big to accommodate 30 people or it will be crowded. I can say it's clean and systematic. The interior as just so so

The Staff/s.

Over all, the staff are all delightful, especially the manager who is attentive and always offers help, which is good for a business that caters buffets and restaurant.

The washroom.

One thing I really noticed when I got to a restaurant of mamak place is the receptionist/waiters and the washroom. The good thing is that they are after cleanliness, it's clean and most importantly there's enough supply of tissues and soap (considering that it's a mostly used area of the restaurant).

The FOOD.

The food is drooling and well served. All my requests are granted, like not too spicy Cajun sauce, the table is not near the washroom or trash can and what I love most is the consistency, generosity and texture of the seafood/food. The squid are tender and not a gummy type and the potatoes and corn are tasty, (although the potatoes )are overcooked I think, but I like it because I am not a fan of half cook veggies for this type of "feast" or occasion.

The customer service on WhatsApp.

Everything is perfectly fine, especially when I talked to Ghale on the application, so everything is in detail and I got a prompt response. The only thing I don't like is when I was being routed to another customer rep. and started to offer me this , like that .. and it was not mentioned in our first conversation. Call me perfectionist and frugal, but I am the type of person who visualizes and auto set my mind whenever I set an arrangement or plan something , that when I feel like it became a "hard sell", when it shouldn't be.

Over all, everything was rated at my "satisfactory" , except for offering other stuff that is not included in their package ( My Queen).

Generally the whole experience is Superb! It's a must try and we'll definitely go back with...
