The Butterfly Garden in Cameron Highlands is a delightful destination for nature lovers and families.
When I visited recently, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of experiences it offers.
The garden is not only home to a wide array of colorful butterflies fluttering around, but it also features other fascinating attractions like alpacas, sheep, and even peacocks.
It’s a wonderful mix of flora and fauna that creates a unique and enjoyable visit for all ages.
As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by the vibrant sight of butterflies of all sizes and colors.
Walking through the garden, I saw them perched on flowers, flying gracefully around, and even landing on visitors—making for some truly magical photo opportunities.
The garden is well-maintained, with plenty of beautiful flowers and plants providing a perfect habitat for the butterflies.
One of the unexpected highlights of the visit was the chance to see alpacas up close. I wasn’t aware that the garden had these charming animals, and it was a pleasant surprise to be able to feed and interact with them.
The alpacas were friendly and seemed to enjoy the attention, adding an extra layer of fun to the experience. There were also other animals like sheep and various insects on display, making it an educational visit for kids and adults alike.
The garden also has a small shop where you can buy food to feed the animals, such as leaves and grass, which made the interaction even more engaging.
The staff were friendly and informative, ensuring that everyone had a good time and learned something new about the species housed there.
If you’re visiting Cameron Highlands, the Butterfly Garden is definitely worth a stop. It’s a peaceful and beautiful place to explore, with plenty of photo-worthy spots and a chance to connect with nature.
The added bonus of seeing and feeding alpacas makes it an even more unique and memorable experience.
Whether you’re traveling with family or friends, this garden offers a lovely break from the usual tourist spots, and I highly recommend it for a fun and relaxing day out.
Although the place shows some signs of wear and could benefit from more maintenance, supporting these local businesses is important as they strive to keep going in...

But they have some another animals, which weren’t kept in the right condition. The worse are the bunnies and the turtles. For the bunnies they keep them on a metal wire floor, which is terrible for there paws. Also they only had young bunnies. We could see only one adult. Which for me indicates that they only show baby bunnies and when they are to big the bunnies disappear (let’s formulate it that way) which is really sad and so wrong. Some baby bunnies had infected eyes and paws as well. Overal they just didn’t look good. You could buy carrots for the bunnies, if you just Google bunny and carrot the first thing that comes up is that carrots are bad for bunnies due to the high sugar content. This indicates that they didn’t do any research I would say. Then there was a turtle that was kept in a tiny aquarium way to small for its size. It was terrible to see. Some other animals also didn’t look so well. You could see that they wanted to get out. The cases where just way to small.
I hope they change some things. I get that they want a butterfly farm and as a bonus at some animals, but I think they can do better!
So butterfly where oke, plants looks nice. They sheeps look fine as well. But it’s just said how mostly the...
Read moreJust disgusting. We came here as a part of our tour. We didn’t know that this butterfly garden is more of a zoo than just butterflies. Probably because most of the butterflies are dead by now. When we came in we directly went into the area where the butterflies are. To our surprise, there where almost no butterflies. When we looked up onto the roof (some sort of a see-through net) there where probably more than one hundred dead butterflies. As we exited the area and went on, we immediately saw that they had two cats caged up. Who needs to see caged up cats when there are so many running around the Cameron highlands???
As we went on, the animal cruelty continued. Animals like chicken, sheep, a raccoon and rabbits where running around who left their cage. The raccoon was on top of a table, unable to jump down and get back into its cage. When we asked the staff to bring it back, they laughed at us and then ignored us. Such disgusting and disrespecting behavior.
Many other animals (guinea pigs, rabbits etc.) lived on top of a grip and were crowded together.
All in all it was a really horrible experience and we can just recommend anyone who cares about animals to not support this animal cruelty....
