If I can, I would give NEGATIVE star! This restaurant is very poorly managed and disorganised.
They have a queue system but never really follow the queue number. Especially if you come in smaller group, be prepared to be neglected and skipped for your table number until “the right table size” appears.
My bf and I are first in the queue but we were denied tables meant for “3-5 people”. I never heard 2 people cannot sit at a 3-pax table, unless it’s a 10 people group and you tell me we can’t take the table because it’s too small then it’s understandable. You guys can look at the photos of how many people just standing there waiting for hours to get this MSG loaded meal.
Once arrived, the staff will immediately usher customers to one pub-like room aka their so called waiting room after telling your queue number, no room for questions. Then your waiting game begins. If you try wandering around to get some fresh air as the space allocated for waiting gets crowded, don’t walk down the alley because there’ll be one crazy rude woman (I think it’s the lady boss of this restaurant-the one at the beverage counter shown below) shouting at you to get back up. Myself and at least 4 more customers got shouted at. It gets very irritating because there is no signage telling people it’s no entrance (apparently u need to pay to walk down the staircase) and the way she yelled at her workers is just unappealing.
Food wise, very very average. Soup is full of MSG (my face swells up the next morning), fish is very salty, prawn not that fresh anymore. I guess she still has this many customer load despite the bad ratings is because her restaurant is strategically located. So unless you have no choice/had to eat here coz following group tour then please please please eat your steamboat elsewhere. There are PLENTY of steamboat restaurants in Cameron which definitely can provide u with happier...
Read moreOverall, not worth it, very bad. There are MANY things I think the restaurant should work on. Before the food and service, the environment is a no for me. The restaurant itself is FULL OF FLIES. The self-service sauce counter (also together with all the utensils customers need to take themselves) is super duper infested with flies. They are on the sauce bottles. The spoons. The chopsticks. Flies are on my dining table. Flying around having a buffet of my food, my head, everywhere. Next, the sauce counter itself lacks variety. The fried onion, garlic seem not fresh and are not good. Also flies were flying around everywhere and sticking to the sauces. You get the idea. Then the food. We ordered tofu. The tofu seemed of bad quality and did not taste good. We ordered meat. Fish: rubber. Pork was too thick to our taste. The yee mee cost Rm3.00, it is the tiny sized yee mee btw. The vegetables did not taste fresh. The Taiwan sausages, the cheese tofu, the texture was off and strange and didn't taste fresh.
Sorry, but this is a no for me. I'm very disappointed. I thought it'd at least be decent but this let...
Read moreI like to enjoy steamboat whenever the weather is cold or raining day. So searching for a nice place to try out steamboat prior visiting Cameron Highland for 3 days 2 nights.
Ended up my dinner was spent at this restaurant for all 2 nights! The 1st night I was waiting for 10mins to be seated at outside, the waitresses were friendly but not the cashiers at counter. The appetizer - the BBQ meatball & fried chicken wings were nice. 1st night we ordered half herbal soup & half fish head soup (+RM20) which the soup with some fried fish head in it. It came with set & you can add on if not enough. Trust me, the set is good enough, if it is still not enough, only order after you finish the set. The 2nd night (Sat night) was full of people when we reached there at 7.30pm. We decided to come back 9.30pm as our hotel (Copthorne) was just nearby, ~400m. We tried herbal & tomyam soup with 2 sets for 2 persons. The soup was delicious and I would recommend to try out herbal soup! Will definitely come back again if I visit Cameron...
