Service:Receptionists, housekeeping, and service team are responsive and helpful. Their services meets the expectation of a 4-star hotel. Service may be slower during peak days / hours.Parking:Small parking space, not quite accesible for elderly or disabled guests.Lifts:Functions well. Guests need to tap hotel card at the scanner before pushing the floor button.Hotel rooms:Disappointing.1. Limited amount of immoble hangers. In our room, only four (4) hangers are available. Where the hangers cannot be removed from the metal rod for easier hanging.2. Batroom is disasterous. The mobile shower head had its knob removed upon checking in, rendering it unusable. After the knob is fixed, we found out that the shower pipe was defected. Water was leaking all along the pipe instead of from the shower head itself. It was quickly replaced upon filing a complaint to the receptionistBe careful not to wet the sink counter, as the design makes the excessive water flow dangerously close to the hair dryer.Close the toilet lid all the time, as the towel rack is positioned directly above the toilet bowl. The flush button is positioned at the left side of the toilet bowl. Push it all the way down then release it immediately to flush. On the second day of our trip, we could smell the scent of cigarettes and urine coming from the toilet upon returning the room. We had room service and none of the guests smoke. The scent was not there before our departure in the morning. We still don't know where it came from. The scent disappeared on the third day after room service.3. Only one chair for the room of three. You may want to play music chair to decide who gets to sit.4. There are some oil stains(?) on the duvet. I'm aware they might have tried thier best to remove it, but the stains do not leave a great impression. 5. On a personal note, there are enough storage space for your belongings int he room. But maybe not the fridge if you're bulk purchasing fresh fruits.6. Do note that all the headboard backlights are connected to one switch. Thus, no turning off backlight separately. 7. Noise cancelling is non existence. Do expect hearing noises when guests check in / out and baby cries.8. Alarms will start blaring if you hold down the hotel door handle for too long. I dont know what it's other purpose other than to frighten new guests.9. The glass door to the balcony was hard to slide open even after unlocking. Maybe it was not well lubricated, or maybe an intentional design to prevent children from opening? Breakfast buffet:Nasi lemak DIY is a permenant resident at the buffet. The same goes for the majority of other dishes, such as porridge, fun cheong, eggs, pancakes, etc. Everyday, there will only be around 3 - 4 new dishes in the buffet. The choices of fresh veges are quite limited considering that the hotel is in Cameron Highlands. It would be a better idea to explore local food outside of the hotel than to come up with a new meal combination from the same dishes every morning. (The ikan bilis was so salty, I could feel my whole brain shrink just from crunching on one.)(We found a strain of long hair in the char key teow, none of us had long hair...)(The fried noodles was...
Read moreNestled high above sea level, Copthorne Cameron Highlands presents itself as a four-star hotel strategically located amidst popular tourist attractions like the strawberry farm and sheep sanctuary. Opting for a twin deluxe room for a night's stay with the aimed to explore the nearby farms during my visit. Lobby:The expansive lobby boasts a charming cabin aesthetic with towering ceilings, which screams vintage all around; felt like I was transported back in time. A leisure and warm hobby station, featuring amenities like massage chairs, billiards, and old-school arcade games, adds a recreational touch. The games requires 2-4 tokens to play - 1 token for 2 RM. The downside is that they only accept large notes of 10 RM, so you'll have to either change more and play more or forfeit the tokens (smart marketing if you tell me).Room:We got a free room upgrade for our stay! We were really excited as it came with a balcony. (disclaimer: everything is downhill from here). Upon entering the room, the first thing that greeted us was the old musky smell. Upon inspection, we realized it was from the molds that was growing all over the room, the walls, bathroom curtains and the corners of the rooms. As it was only for a night stay, we were too lazy to get it changed. The room came with basic amenity - 2in1 soap and shampoo, toothbrush, shower cap, body lotion and slippers. There were also a coffee and tea bar. Hot water was provided but it was only available at the floor lift lobby (it gets worst, the water from the dispenser was running low when we tried to fetch some hot water). The toilet comes with a bathtub but being surrounded all the molds, its a no bubble bathe for me. Not to mention, the drainage of the bathtub was pretty bad. There was no aircon available as it's generally very cold in Cameron Highlands. The view from the balcony was decent, you can watch the sunrise and occasional fog and clouds that flows in.Other FacilitiesCopthorne Cameron Highlands offers additional facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a children's playground, providing options for varied leisure activities.StaffsThe staffs were all super nice and friendly, and the concierge even offered to send us to the shopping mall at night as there wasn't any taxi or grab available.Despite it's convenient location, I think it's not worth the stay for tourist who are particular on cleanliness. I did fell sick after a night here. I highly recommending staying more central, and rent a car for a day to explore the farms...
Read moreProbably the worst hotel associated with the Millennium hotel group. We initially booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 2 nights however after our first night we couldn’t stay any longer: The apartment wings didn’t have lifts, so we had to climb the stairs, which were wet and mouldy. A safety hazard, when carrying heavy luggage. Cups were placed faced down, on top of a rusty fridge top Bowls were dirty and not washed; there were moist chili oil stains, probably from a former tenant’s use There was mould growth on the ceilings One of the toilet’s ceiling was rusty, and it was leaking, with brown rust stains of the floor. Toilet bowl had a really long lag time to refill after initial flush, so for 2nd flush, had to wait ~10 mins Sofa had stains on the cover WiFi was not working The rooms had no climate control, and insulation was really poor. It was unbearably cold since we were at Cameron Highlands, and we couldn’t sleep at all. The provided comforter/blanket was too thin, and only one pillow per person. The wardrobes were rundown, with torn laminates and squeaky sliding doors (also rusty) Provided ironing board was super worn, with burnt holes and stains The door hinges were rusty, and creaked every time it opened The side tables looked like it came from the 90s. Which is okay, if the switches worked, but only some did
Thankfully the front desk was willing to shift us to the hotel wing after we raised our concerns about the state of the apartment after the 1st night. The hotel rooms weren’t the best, but it was definitely more liveable.
I cannot even understand how they can have this apartment provided as a viable accommodation to its customers in this given state. I thought established hotel chains would have a certain baseline, but this was way below that. Worst hotel I ever stayed in.
I have always had a good impression and experience with the Millennium chain, but this experience has taught me to be cautious and never assume that it would be a constant, seamless experience. Hope they can do better. The service was okay, but the 3 room apartment was truly unfit for stay, and in dire need for better maintenance and refresh. Avoid...
