During my recent trip to Cameron Highlands, I made a stop at Cactus Point, a popular attraction known for its impressive collection of cacti.
As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by rows and rows of various types of cacti, from tiny, delicate ones to large, towering specimens that seemed to defy gravity.
It’s an intriguing place for plant lovers and anyone curious about these fascinating, low-maintenance plants.
Cactus Point is not just a place to admire these spiky wonders; it’s also a great spot for photography.
The vibrant colors and unique shapes of the cacti make for some really interesting and Instagram-worthy shots.
I spent a good amount of time just wandering around, taking pictures, and marveling at the sheer variety on display.
They also have a small section with succulents and other ornamental plants, adding more green to the space.
What I really liked about Cactus Point is that you can buy these beautiful plants to take home.
They have a wide selection of potted cacti and succulents, ranging from tiny ones perfect for tabletops to larger ones that would make a statement in any garden.
The prices are reasonable, and the staff are quite knowledgeable, offering tips on how to care for the plants. It’s a perfect spot if you’re looking to bring a piece of Cameron Highlands back home with you.
However, I did notice that some areas seemed a bit run-down and could use a bit more maintenance.
While this didn’t take away from the overall experience, it’s something that could be improved to enhance the appeal of the place.
Despite this, I think it’s important to support local businesses like Cactus Point. They provide a unique experience and an opportunity to learn more about these fascinating plants.
It’s clear that a lot of effort goes into maintaining the collection, even with the challenges they face.
Overall, if you’re visiting Cameron Highlands, Cactus Point is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast or just looking for a unique place to explore, it offers a peaceful and interesting experience.
Just keep in mind that it’s not a fancy botanical garden, but rather a charming, locally-run spot that’s full of character...
Read moreI stopped by this place on the first day and thought it had a wide selection of plants and succulents. Put it on my to stop list before I go back. Came back on the last day of my trip, realized that other places (specifically big red strawberry farm) had much much more selections at a cheaper price. Not only that, I was greeted with an extremely rude cashier who do not even know basic communication. Tried bargaining with him since I bought a lot of stuff, it fell on deaf ears. Would appreciate at least a yes or even a no. Worst than that, an even worst experience: I was lining up behind one guy, holding 2 pots. There was nobody behind me at that time. My gf went to have a look at the fertilizer AT the cashier. While that rude guy was serving the customer, I put my pots of plant at the cashier, thinking that guy would serve me next like what you see in typical supermarkets (he even saw me) and walked to my gf, discussing about the fertilizer. Nope, that did not happen. He served 1,2 customers, totally ignoring me and making it look like I cut queue. I was not angry yet, as I thought: Well, those customers only had 1 or 2 items (some just bought ice cream). Nope, he served yet another customer who had 6 pots of plants. He even had the audacity to gossip to his colleague about how I cut queue INFRONT of me. At that time, with arms crossed, I gave him a death stare and push my pots of plants infront of him and only then did he serve me. (I even bought soil and succulents and 5 pots of plants in total) I even asked for a box and plastic bag which he at the very least gave after being rude AGAIN by asking his colleague about it infront of his customer, me. Overall, NOT RECOMMENDED if you do not want your holiday experience to be ruined. You should steer clear away from this place unless you just want to have a look and not buy stuff. Other places have much more selection at better price if you know...
Read moreCactus Point is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Cameron Highlands, especially if you love plants. It’s a great place to explore and shop for a variety of succulents, cacti, orchids, flowers, and even decorative pots. The selection here is really impressive, with so many different types of plants to choose from. It’s honestly a plant lover’s paradise. The prices are very reasonable compared to many other places we’ve seen. Small succulents were only RM5 per pot, and they even had a “buy 6 free 1” deal, which made it even more worth it. Medium-sized plants were mostly around RM10+, and larger ones were just slightly over RM40. With that kind of pricing, you can easily pick up a few to bring home without feeling like you’re overspending. Besides plants, they also sell various kinds of flower pots, souvenirs, teas, and other local products. It’s a fun place to walk around even if you’re not planning to buy anything. But honestly, it’s hard to leave empty-handed with so many cute and affordable options. I ended up taking so many photos—there were just so many colorful flowers and plants everywhere, it was such a nice spot for pictures. Visiting Cameron Highlands wouldn’t feel complete without stopping by a place like this. I’m really glad we came—it was a satisfying and memorable part...
