What started out as an exciting family outing to a mini zoo quickly turned out to be a disappointment.
The fact that the butterfly farm is being promoted in their business name is shocking. We did not see a single butterfly flying around and the few we saw were just lying on plants or barriers on top. I saw just 3 alive species and most of the butterflies were already dead on the ground so the farm is better off being removed entirely.
Some of the other animals were not faring any better either. The many empty small enclosures tells you that whatever inside is dead. The aquarium section is not properly maintained and you can see the turtles having algae on their shell. Lack of space is another problem for animals like the Australia kangaroos, meerkats, rabbits, etc…This place does not follow the same ethical practices as normal large zoos which is why I always love the large zoos more (more staffs to take care of all the animals and larger enclosures).
The sheep enclosure is the largest in this place and is the only appropriate one. A lot of people are delighted with the adorable baby animals like the lambs and bunnies because those and the exotic animals are the main attraction points. But you must also understand that caring for the animals is as important as making profit to keep a business afloat.
I saw more staffs managing the ice-cream store there than checking the animals(I saw none) and needless to say, I will not be bringing my family here again. My advice to the place is to convert the entire business to a green garden since their cactus and flowers were in better conditions than the...
Read moreOur tour guide dropped us off here then said to meet in an hour so unfortunately it seemed like I had no choice but to go in, saddened that I would probably be supporting unethical treatment towards butterflies (farm that costs to go in rarely means happy, free animals) but to see countless more other unhappy animals was so disheartening. What on earth are kangaroos, raccoons and groundhogs (just to name a few) doing in Malaysia? Taking them away from their natural habitat and imprisoning them in such a tiny space is cruel and paying to see these animals is further supporting such cruelty. If you can’t see the problem, imagine either being captured then spending the rest of your life or living your whole life in a pen that size whilst being stared at by another species all day. In line with the prison theme, the bathrooms were...
Read moreMany still confuse with this place and butterfly farm. Zoomania butterfly farm is attached next to restaurant Jin Jin. Some visitors are giving low scale review of this place because they thought it’s the less hygienic butterfly farm that is just next to this place on another site. But this zoomania is the correct one.
Overall. I had a very happy experience with this place, as it has upgraded its facilities with not just butterflies but flowers and animals. The sanctuary is very clean unlike what others said. The sheeps no too are well kept with ample of space. The exotic animals are taken good care off too even in an average tank.. the rabbits have ample of space to run & eat but some get sickly quick and there are no vets to cure the sick ones in Camerons.. it is a must visit to this place as you will be sure...
